Have the interns taken over the BBC graphics department today?

Probably not ideal preparation for Greg to have Gabby'n'Colin yakking away right beside you while you are trying to focus.

Semenya isn't in Birmingham, so Niyonsaba will be the favourite for today's women's 800m.
JavarnJohnson

Niyonsaba with ease.
Edward_Sloley
05-06-2016
1:56.92 MR for Niyonsaba! Lamote 2nd in 1:58.01 PB, Bishop 3rd in 1:58.48 SB, Sharp 4th in 1:59.29.

Big 0.8s PB for Renelle Lamote; Melissa Bishop 1.5s quicker than she was in Rome.

Now this should be very interesting....

What will Kendra Harrison do? How will Pearson perform?

Some big times today.

The Womens 800m is serious business now. Run a 1.59, finish nowhere!

Right, now for the hurdles. Not sure I can watch. Will Sally make it all the way?

Women's 100mH up next - headed by Harrison, though a WR might be a stretch in Birmingham.

Pearson's back on the circuit, it seems.

Brett Morse 8th (nowhere) in the men's discus with 56.47m.

This race features the three fastest hurdlers of the last 15 years. Stacked field.

Harrison in 12.46 (-0.3m/s)...still going some.

Rollins 2nd in 12.57 (after a twitch), Castlin 3rd in 12.75.
Porter 5th in 12.86, Hatton 8th in 13.36.

No WR but another dominant run by Harrison.

Pearson didn't look good but she's been away for a while so it's expected.

I know. See my rant after the Rome race.

No fewer than 4 Brits in the women's 5,000m, including Jessica Andrews. Cherono is the form athlete in the field.

No problems picking Jess Coulson out of the field today.

Has Arzramasova (spelling?) won any races since Beijing?

In terms of the hurdles for the USA, Queen Harrison beat Sharika Nelvis last night in the USA so it's safe to say Nelvis isn't a front runner this year as she was last year. Castlin hasn't looked bad this year - she's 4th fastest. But then Harper-Nelson was back under 13 today. Has she even missed a championship since 2007? Or is it 2005? Things to consider...

I can't wait for US trials. Can you tell?

Barshim clears a 2.37m WL in the men's high jump!

Grabarz 4th with 2.29m.

One year too long for Jo Pavey, I think.

Cheruiyot pips Cherono in 15:12.79.

15:46.82 PB for Andrews in ninth place, just ahead of Pavey (15:47.64).

I'm not sure I've ever seen her win a non-championship race.

Greg only 5th in the men's long jump with 8.17m, just pipped to the cut-off by (I think) Tyrone Smith.

World leader Goodwin leads with 8.42m.

No thanks to Gabby'n'Colin blethering all over his preparation, of course.

Men's 400m headed by James. 3 Brits and Motswana junior Baboloki Thebe in the field.

James clocks a 44.23 MR for the win.

Hudson-Smith 4th with an encouraging 45.13 SB; Yousif 7th in 45.59 (SB), Dunn 8th in 46.30.

Nice 45.13 SB for MHS.
