On the Red Button Forum programme he said he's in a heavy training block at the moment and his demeanour suggested he wasn't upset with his time today.
Be interesting to see how Adam goes in his planned 200 race in Geneva next week, which will be his first 200 since winning the European title. My highlight from a British perspective today was seeing Hudson-Smith back to form. He was so strong at the end & looks like he'll be sub 45 again soon My overall highlight was Barshim getting back towards his best.

Got to say I'm not hugely optimistic about our prospects in Rio on this showing. Yes, all of our London veterans are in with medal chances, but I don't see many of our younger athletes doing much. Apart from Eilidh Doyle, Lindsay Sharp and the women's relay squads, I can't see many other people who can get into finals, never mind medal. Maybe things will improve.

Sorry if this has already been posted. Looks like USADA has ended it's Salazar investigation:

Still thinking about Nelson's performance in the first 100m heat. I think her 11.31 into a -3.1 headwind is perhaps her best performance to date. It corrects to 11.04 for those who trust "basic" times.
Our 4x1 team suddenly looks a lot better. We finished only narrowly behind T&T in Beijing and their star sprinter, Ahye, has looked poor thus far. With DAS, Nelson and Henry looking so good, and (hopefully) an in-form Philip starting, we could go sub-42 and win a medal. Philip-Nelson-DAS-Henry would be the best line-up I feel. |

After a strong indoor season (sub-4:10) I was expecting Hannah England to be back in the fray for an Olympic place but so far she's only run 4:11, 4:10 & 4:11 again today (in Bydgoszcz).
Sarah McDonald, on the other hand, who was 3 seconds behind her in the British indoors has catapulted herself up the rankings with a 4:07.2 today. It's a long shot (or maybe not given her rate of improvement?) but can she get a couple of sub-4:07 before June 20th to join (presumably) the two Lauras on the team? Or, will she just be satisfied with a place on the Euros team? |

Andrew Cotter virtually writing Rudisha off before the race. Silly man.
African record for Rudisha. Terrific European record for Bosse off the back of his DL 800 win. |

Also believe that Henry and DAS have a chance at the 100m final. Currently only the USA (3x), Jamaica (3x), Ivory Coast (2x) and The Netherlands (1x) are ahead of them in the rankings. And especially the Ivory Coast women are catchable. As for the 200m, only Schippers, Felix, Bowie and Thompson are almost certainly in the final. The rest of the places are up for grabs. Assuming that DAS will go for the 200m in Rio, as I can't see a time (/mark) for her yet this year. Surprisingly enough, KJT is currently the UK's fasted female 200m sprinter. |

Andrew Cotter is a poor commentator isn't he? Sadly he has become a "jack of all trades" for the BBC.
I'd be all for Rob Walker taking over lead commentary duties. I've been very impressed by him whenever I've heard him. Very knowledgeable & thoughtful and he conveys the right level of enthusiasm, I think, just by intonation and without shouting like Crammy does. |

Hmm, I think the whole BBC athletics team has become an 'old boys/girls club' (with Cotter a relatively new boy) and they've become lazy and cliched in their commentary.

It's still relatively early in the season yet. Others will emerge as the season goes on & form improves, who would have talked up Eilidh as a potential medalist a couple of Months ago?
I think we'll get a few finalists in the sprints. Pozzi looks as if he could make the hurdles final if his body stays in 1 piece. Grabarz is going pretty well & Lorraine Ugen is having a decent season. And in the States Mitchell-Blake, Ofili & Nick Miller are all doing great on the Collegiate circuit - of course it remains to be seen what form they are in come August but that just illustrates the point that you can't judge too much on form in the 1st week of June either way. |

I think Crammy & Cotter are brilliant & am also a fan of Mike Costello on 5 Live. I really don't like Tim Hutchings or Martin Gillingham on Eurosport though.

Just seen highlights of the hurdles. How was Eilidh Doyle not given that victory? It looked like she did in real time and the photo certainly indicated she did

Another UK combined events record bites the dust - Niamh Emerson scored a PB of 5815 in an U18 heptathlon in Tenerife.

Olga Rypakova (KAZ) leads women's triple jump at the death with 14.61m (+1.5m/s) =SB! What response from Ibargüen?
It's 14.53m (+0.7m/s), so her streak of 34 is ended by the same person that denied her Olympic gold in 2012! |

Has Arzramasova (spelling?) won any races since Beijing?

I'm not sure I've ever seen her win a non-championship race.
Semenya wins the gold if she wants to. |

Tom Bosworth secured his Rio place in the 20K Walk by winning the British Grand Prix in Leeds on Sunday - he already had a qualifying time from earlier in the summer.

Just a heads up - Eurosport 2 are showing a meeting from Prague tonight at 5PM. Haven't seen full start lists but I know Jack Green is running.
