I wasn't expecting much of Dai to be honest, but until that penultimate hurdle he looked quite respectable. It'll be interesting to see if he can sharpen up over the remainder of the season.

Uh-oh, Swiss relay time.
Decent run from Our Lads, looking for a squad place, I suppose. Presuming that's an NR for the Swiss, they seem fairly chuffed. |

Always disappointing when Rimmer doesn't give us any ammo to take some cheap pot shots.
3rd place. Nothing amazing, but could easily have been worse. The mens 400 hurdles was probably the best race of the night. |

Really good PB in the Watford 800 last night for Steph Twell, 2:02.58, beating her best from 2010 by 0.01 (the year she was running 4:02 in the 1500). Shelayna O-C won in 2:01.17.

Off we go in Stockholm, and it is indeed cold and wet. Decent crowd though.

Been a pretty rubbish start in Stockholm. The hurdles seemed a disappointment to all concerned and the 5k was essentially an Ethiopian fun run.
The schedule looks better from here on in. |

Not convinced that this is a good idea for Susanna Kallur, but I suppose she is not that old. Horrible injury record.

Solid 1st and 3rd for our two main sprinters. Dina should've won it and did. While Henry looks a much better runner this season and grabs another PB.

Geez, what a messy meet.
Another decent run from Kilty. Still got some improving to do before next week. |

5th was a bit harsh on our Richard. Good start, as always... but he's shot his bolt by 40 or 50 metres and just doesn't have anything up his sleeve in the second half of the race.

This has the potential to be the most boring diamond league meet EVER.

Oh dear, terrible tactical race from Laura Muir. |

Hands up if you had Cichocka for the 1500?
Laura's first bad race since 2014 but at least she beat Seyaum & Obiri.

Oh dear, that was a messy old 1500m. No one taking the pace and everyone stacking up and climbing over each other, three lanes abreast at times. Muir was all over the track trying to find a way through on the final straight. Urgh. Quote:

Good 800m to finish with. No love lost between the two Kenyans by the look of it. Think that is it until the UK trials next weekend as far as TV coverage is concerned.

Not exactly the most riveting Diamond League.
If anyone's up for a Vinco stream they are showing the U20 & U23 champs this weekend. As you might expect a week before the Olympic trials the U23 fields are not !much to write home about. The U20s doubles as the World Junior trials so decent competition here & an idea of who to look out for ahead of next Month's event in Poland |

It wasn't the best was it. Oslo wasn't much better last week either.
Very interesting to see Susanna Kallur back after SIX years. She could easily medal in Amsterdam. You kinda feel if you had 8 Americans in the 100H final in Rio and it will be better than it will eventually be. Still, they might not get all the medals. It's probably the most unpredictable event of them all... |
