Just noticed that Kilty has no tattoos and James Ellington is covered with them. When you ARE hard, you don't have to pretend...
Oh, too bad for the windspeed, very credible race. |

If DAS wanted to do the 100m, she'd do it in the trials - I reckon she's just aiming for the 200 (like last year), so it's probably between Henry and Nelson for that discretionary spot...

Ellington qualifies in the 100, hope he doesn't run the 200 now as I really want the 3 to be Gemili/Hughes/NMB

40m too long for Kilty, he was well in the race until then.

Good win for Dasaolu. Shame that Ellington pipped Ujah for 2nd, that's not what I wanted to happen, but Ujah should be selected anyway.
Great running. Top 3 sub-10, although windy. |

Has no-one else noticed the top 3 broke 10 seconds?! (Spoke too soon)
OK, it was a wind-assisted final (+3.0m/s), but damn... Dasaolu 9.93 Ellington 9.96 (!?) Ujah 9.97 (he lost a top-2 place towards the end) |

On reflection, perhaps only Dasaolu would have gone sub 10.1 without that tailwind.
Down in Ratingen, JEH had a good first day in the Mehrkampf-Meeting (despite conditions not being ideal at times) with 13.13 (-0.8m/s), 1.84m, 14.29m SB and 23.36 (-0.3m/s) SB. Provided she has a good second day, her heptathlon score could be around 6700. |

Kilty is a great starter, but it'll be hard to justify his position on the relay squad on this result.

Laura Samuel jumps 14.09 SB… 6cm off the Olympic standard!!! Lets hope she can finally get the magic mark at the Euros. She jumped 5 (!!!) fouls and her 14.09 in the third round was her only valid jump, but enough to take the title.

If Dina does want to double I'd definitely go with her. Desiree showed today she doesn't yet have the big race mentality. Hope Desiree comes back tomorrow for thee 200m. If she keeps her head there she has a great chance there as nobody is doing that great apart from Dina.
Asha and Dasaolu looked great. And fair play to Ellington although I don't like him. Kilty will struggle to make relay at this rate. Knew he wasn't in good form but I still thought he'd beat Harry AA who has also been in mediocre form. |

Hurricane strength winds aside, the men's 100 was a good race. Never really thought a huge amount of Ellington, but he did well in that final. The women's 100 was a slightly disappointing result. I'd hoped for rather more consistency from Desiree, but maybe she'll get sent anyway, but Dina and even Ashleigh Nelson will be contesting that spot. So, perhaps they'll send her to Amsterdam as a consolation prize. The 100 hurdles was good too. Give it a season and I think Cindi will be our No. 1. It's just a shame they didn't feature the remainder of the events. I'm always a sucker for endless first round heats. Quote:

![]() Even when Chris Tomlinson retires and Rimmer finally admits defeat, we'll still have Richard. But maybe not in Rio this time.

I think Cindy might be number 1 by the end of the season. Already run quicker than Tiff & if she'd had even a half decent start would have beaten big sis. Could see her doing better in Rio.

It happens so often, the younger sibling who competes in the same event as the older usually ends up better.

News from the French champs, Jimmy Vicaut ran 9.88 would love to see him wins medal in Rio. Teddy Tamgho broke his leg though so is out of Rio obviously. He does have rotten luck

Well the first part of your wish has come true, Ellington doesn't go in the 200. But I have a feeling Danny Talbot might scupper things for you.
It really will be a massive dilemma for the selectors choosing between NMB/Gemili/Hughes, I honestly can't call who would miss out. |

Yeah, I think Danny Talbot will snatch an auto spot.

Shame about NMB, I was looking forward to seeing him run against the other Brits.
