So, good race to finish with. Those guys will need to find some time from somewhere if they're to get into the semis, never mind the final though.

Gemili takes it in 20.44 (-0.1m/s), Talbot in 20.46.

That 6.75m PB by Sawyers is particularly encouraging as the windspeed was a mere 0.2m/s.

So, I assume these will be the main selectors dilemmas now:

100: DAS vs Henry vs Nelson
200: NMB vs Hughes vs Ellington
400: Ohuruogu vs Onuora
800: Meadows vs Leonard vs Tracey
Long Jump: KJT vs Ugen

I would add Rooney vs Dunn in the 400 but I think Dunn has very little chance of selection and Rooney will probably have to demonstrate form.

Next chance to get a qualifying mark will be on Wednesday, there's a meet from Finland live on Eurosport 2 at 17:00

And then the Europeans start a week on Wednesday - quite a short meet.

The right two are going to Rio, but not in the order I would've guessed.
Still not convinced the PSD hype was ever justified. And does Christine really deserve that third spot? I'm not convinced.
an incredibly stupid comment, overhyped! her pb in the 400 metres hurdles would have been good enough for silver in the last world champs, the one before that she was 2nd fastest qualifier for the final she was injured in, eilidh doyle has the chance for a medal in the 400h at this years olympics and psd was consistently better than her in every race and i say that as a Scot. shes done well to come back from an inury that has taken her three years to get over and who knows what kind of form she will be able to get back into but if she had managed to avoid injury there was clearly the potential to win multiple gold/silver medals in world and olympic championships,
I wouldn't go as far as saying "incredibly stupid" comment, more ill informed, otherwise agree with you particular her dominance over Eildh. Some forget about the fact Perri was 23 when she set her best marks and has only been back post injury for a few months. She showed all the potential prior to 2013 to have been a gold winning athlete during her mid twenties, had she not been injured.

I think 2016 is too soon for her, but 2017 in London assuming she doesn't aggravate old injuries should be her target........but as you say it wasn't hype; it was justified!!

Danny will make semis as he did at last years worlds. If he can run a PB as he did izn Beijing then all the better.

Adam on the other hand is a class act who runs his best times in champs. He is running quicker now than he was at the same stage in 2014 and look how well he ran in Zurich in crap conditions. Calling it now Adam will run 19.8x in Rio.

If Dina wants to double I'd give her the spot but I suspect she'll focus on 200. Henry v Nelson for 3rd spot at Europeans.

NMB vs Zharnel in Amsterdam? If both struggling for form/fitness then Ellington.

Christine will probably get 3rd spot. Onoura will get to semis at best but Christine's champs record can't be ignored.

Easily Leonard for 800, the top 3 were comfortably ahead of the others. Can't pick Adelle Tracy when she couldn't even make final.

Ugen if she can prove fitness. KJT has the Hep & also spoken of preferring to do High Jump rather than Long Jump. She does need qualifying mark though as she's 1 cm short.

I'd pick Rooney for the individual as well. Last year he wasn't in great form & had to appeal to run individual event and ended up running a PB.

Rooney was probably blown to that PB (two of his competitors breaking 44 in a heat was utterly ridiculous), but I'd also pick him because of his relay record.

At the USATF Junior Championships, Tia Jones clocked 12.84 (+1.2m/s) in the 100mH heats. That's an U18 best over the hurdles proper and equals the ratified WJR...which is sobering, as she's FIFTEEN. That also makes her the first of those born in 2xxx to break 13 seconds.

(Last year, Dior Hall clocked an unratified 12.74 (+1.7m/s) as an U20)

In the past 3 years, the USA has produced U18 girls that have done the following:
* Sub-11 for 100m
* Sub-22.5 for 200m
* Sub-13 for 100mH
* Sub 54.5 for 400mH

Extraordinary, to say the least.

^^ US Juniors and High-schoolers are crazy good sometimes. Mind you, having over 300 million people and a hyper-competitive schools system will do that.

Significant news in the women's 10,000 ...

22yo Alice Aprot of Kenya won the African Championships by a full minute with an African all-comers record & WL of 30:26.94. The Kenyan trials are next week.

The 10,000 in Hengelo this Wednesday night that Jo Pavey is entered for is serving as the Ethiopian trials. As I understand it, it's first 3 get picked for Rio so the big news is that Tirunesh Dibaba won't make the 10k team since she's not entered (there's no Defar either). Fortunately for Ethiopia they seem to have a readymade replacement in Ayana who'll be making her track debut at the distance in Hengelo.
Startlist - women's
Startlist - men's

Such a shame that the Euro Champs are being treated as something to be avoided if at all possible. They're a great event in their own right.
I'm interesting in this, in a non Olympic year the Euro's are treated like an all important on equal par with the Commonwealth's, yet in Olympic year they are just treated as another even less important trials respected by nobody.

Is anyone showing the Euro's on TV because the BBC don't seem to be anyway.

It's all live in full on Eurosport, plus there will be full live streams on Eurovision Sports, although you may need some expertise in getting past geo-blocking on those.

They're on Eurosport and, as always, they'll also be streamed live on http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/eaa/

I see that BT Sport aren't covering the US Championships this year (unless they're just doing the last few days?)

You would have thought the BBC would at least show highlights which I seem to recall happened 4 years ago.

Well, I notice that the Eurovision feed is geo-blocked, so the BBC must be planning to show something. Maybe highlights roundups at the weekend.

British Team for the Euros named. Michael Rimmer and Will Sharman are in; Chris Tomlinson a controversial exclusion.

It's actually a pretty strong team in most events; almost all our best sprinters and field eventers are going. It's only the multi-events, middle and long distance where it's an obvious B-Team. Should be quite a few morale-boosting medals.

Timetable for the Champs is here - it's a little truncated compared to a normal meet, only a half marathon and no walks.

You could always go for a Eurosport months subscription, no contract and just £6.99. And of course for July you'll get the whole of the Tour de France as well.

Interested as to why you think Chris Tomlinson is a "controversial exclusion"? I'd say that would apply more to people like Seb Rodger, Brett Morse etc.

It's an inside joke. It took off (sorry) when Greg got the single spot available in Moscow 2013 ahead of Chris, then failed to qualify for that final.

Seb Rodger not being selected is bizarre. He can feel seriously aggrieved. And Kilty is extremely fortunate to be going individually, wasted opportunity to blood a talented youngster like Ojie Edoburun.

Still it wouldn't be a British athletics selection without a controversy or 2.

Most of those who skipped trials are named. No Ashleigh Nelson though, suspect that her injury is not looking too clever.
