Jonathan Borlee has a shocker, only 6th in his heat, very little chance of a lucky loser.

Greg Rutherford 7.93 in the first round of the LJ, automatic qual is 8.00

Martyn Rooney very easy qual, 46.57 strolling at the front.

Anyone fancy joining me in making some daily predictions for the finals - medallists, British placings and winning mark?

Just the W 10,000 final today so here goes with mine:
1. Can 31:54.58
2. Pappas
3. Vastenburg
Andrews 5th
Pavey 9th

Startlists at http://www.european-athletics.org/co...dules-results/

So Greg finishes 7.93 in the LJ, probably qualifies 5th or 6th.

Ashley Bryant gets an SB in the Shot, still in 5th overall.

Didn't realise the Beeb were giving this a miss. Got back from work, so I've missed the early part of the morning session on Eurosport, which is a nuisance.

So, according to the thread, Isobel is out (surprise...) and Lucy and Serita obviously don't fancy going to Rio either!

Only a slight overlap with the cycling...

Ashley Bryant only 1.89 in the Dec HJ, lots of jumping still going on, so will lose places.

I like Vastenberg, but I'm afraid this is one year too many for Jo Pavey, will be a long way back or a DNF.

Jodie running to form. Nuff said.

Wonder if Dina will crank out a decent time?

Big no doubter from DAS - Jodie just hanging on in 2nd lucky loser place.

Ah, blethering, that's what we've been missing since 10:00.

Live scores are here, incidentally.

Good bend from Dina. Haven't seen her that fluid all season.

So Jonathon's ditching his cushy BBC studio gig to become a glorified mix zone interviewer! Interesting choice.

That's going to take some getting used to.

Ah, Mekhissi-Benabbad is up - track clears of all superfluous personnel.

Rob Mullett manages to get through in 4th in the 3000m Steeple. Mekhissi gets off the track without starting a fight. Early days yet.

Celebrating on the homestraight in a heat is apparently a thing now...or so Aras Kaya likes to think. 8:33.11 for the win.

Yeah, I think Father Time is more speedily catching up with Jo but I hope she proves me wrong later on.

Are there ANY native Turks competing here? Two Kenyans in the steeple, a Kenyan in the women's 10k, two Kenyans in the men's 5k, three different nationalities in the men's 100 ... I could probably go on if I could be bothered to look.

Very generous qual in the women's 800m now,, first 4 + 4 losers. 3 Brits involved, all chasing Olympic times.

Must say it's the first time I've heard Stuart Storey commentating at an international championships since Beijing 2008.

Pretty comfortable win for Renelle Lamote in 2:01.60.

IIRC, he did the global feed at London 2012 with Peter Matthews and the (frankly dreadful) John Trower.

I was half hoping our glorious comrade whistle-blower would do a Caster Semenya and destroy the field.

Oh well let's see which of our girls pulls her finger out and puts in a decent qualification.

Allison Leonard manages to get through after getting herself trapped about 3 times.

Almost big bother for Alison Leonard with 50 to go but a nice spurt to get herself 2nd. Fabienne Kohlmann leading through the bell faded really badly to finish last.

Actually guys, Shara Proctor is DNS in the long jump. NM for Jazmin Sawyers in first round. Luke Cutts at 5.35 in the PV, long way to go.

And Adele Tracey has clearly got the same coach.

Are there ANY native Turks competing here?
And indeed Italians who were not previously Cubans?
