10.03 (+1.5m/s) for Jimmy Vicaut in the first semi - should win it under 10 easily come the final. 10.04 PB for James Ellington in 2nd, so he's in the final as well.

Any idea why we didn't take up the 3rd berth in the womens 400m? We seem to have taken everyone and their twin sister out there for the relay, I thought one of them could have stepped up.

Kilty runs his first-ever 100m race!

"Very strong second half of the race from Kilty" Words no-one has ever said before in World History.

I nearly fell off my chair. He actually gained places AFTER 60metres .

If he'd had the same wind as Ellington I think he could've got a new PB too.

What an insightful interview that was with Christina Schwanitz.

[P.S. Women's shot put 20.17m EL FTW]

Right, so three heats with three Brits in the men's 1500m.

How disappointed will we all be by the end of them?

Seems silly doesn't it... Diamond, SBD and Adeoye are all there for the relay yet none got a run out individually.

Heh.

The CR for the men's 100m stands at 9.99 (+1.3m/s) by Francis Obikwelu...I don't think it'll last the day.

Stuart Storey and his mis-pronunciation of names is getting irritating now....

Already put a strong marker down - probably not the strongest of competition?

Do we fancy his chances to defend the Olympic gold when that comes?

8.30 would guarantee gold here, I reckon. Americans already have three or four guys over 8.40, but it was the same thing last year and they all flopped at the Worlds.

Michel Torneus SWE goes to 8,21 with his first jump, which is what he did in qualifying, I think. Once again, big swirling wind!

He's a either a "championship performer" or one of the greatest flukes athletics has ever produced. I fancy his chances, as long as he stays fit of course.

However, win or lose, he'll still be derided as lucky.

Hendrik Ingebritsen now has to nip across town for a gig with his Queen Tribute Band at the Melkweg this evening.

Well, one out the three made it through and with a bit of a flourish too.

That's one more than I thought at the start of the heats.

Torneus' second jump - 8.07.

Storey gets all the consonants in Jozwik's name, just never in the right order. It's what the experts call Paul Dickenson syndrome.

Greg up again....NM

Torneus round 3 - 7.80.
