I presume they have a good record in it!

The poles generally fall a little short.

I'll get my coat.

Slow times. Will Christine retire with WC in london next year
These times are pretty standard of what we'd expect from Christine at this stage, it's just a case of whether the selectors think the gamble is worth it.

I'd go for Christine tbh just because Anyika is unlikely to get any further than Christine would on current form, and CO's champs record is superior

Was that arrogance on Lavillenie's part to come in for his first vault at 5.75?

Must have been, as the comms pointed out, he has been out there since 17:00 doing nothing and then he comes in at about 95% of his maximum. Cant be done.

Ooof - so much going on!!! Jade Lally currently in 7th in the Discus final 59.88 in the second round.

Like the commentators have been saying, everyone expected this Champs to be a bit rubbish, but in fact it has been cracking stuff, at least in the evening sessions.

Again times are not great, A shame Mitchell Blake got that injury after those great times in the USA.

Always nice to see the home country doing well though

Jade threw some great distance in Australia earlier this year she cant seem to repeat that in Europe though.

Men's 10,000m final up next.

On which lap will Ali Kaya or Polat Kemboi Arikan start showboating?

Andy Vernon was on the startlist but he's not racing, so Dewi Griffiths is on his own, so to speak.

I was about to consider doing something else while the men's 10k was on, but then I saw the Turkish contingent and thought I'd stick around for a chuckle.

Turkey totally taking the piss, I know the IAAF have a lot on their plate right now but they have to do something about this, it's passport doping.

It's silver for Jazmin Sawyers in the women's long jump. She's won silver in the 2013 EJCh, 2014 CWG, 2015 EU23Ch and now the 2016 ECh.

That's quite the silver lining!

And no-one expects a trimmer like Coe to take this on, of course.

And Junior World Bobsleigh silver medallist also!

Jade Lally hanging on in 7th in the discus after 3 rounds, there are 15 people in the final for some reason.

Reynaud, no good complaining about the wind, mate.

I know we have athletes not born in Uk but they have rights to nationality.

Shouldn't forget Sawyers also won bronze in the 2012 WJCh - ironically, her best (indeed only valid) mark was a WJL as the top two finished ahead of her with wind-aided jumps (including KJT, as it happens).
