The schedule is showing that they're live on ES 2.
Ah, you're right, must just be the Virgin box, was telling me there was motor racing at that slot. But pretty sure we will lose a few Sunday finals to the TdF or tennis unless Andy wins it in three sets.

Tomorrow's coverage is going to be very much truncated, again because Tennis and Tour de France, so if you don't have Eurosport Player you might miss a lot . There's no coverage of the morning half marathons at all.
Kind of frustrating that the athletics is demoted for coverage of the tennis when that is also on BBC 1 and cycling which is also on ITV4. Understand it from Eurosport's perspective but the viewer loses out on choice of viewing.

Shame we are missing it, but it looks like Annouk Vetter is covering herself with glory - 55.76 PB in the javelin, increasing her lead to an untouchable extent.

And next thrower, Sofia Ifantidou, threw 56.36, a Championship Best in the Hep beating Nana Djimou's old CB of 55.82.

Ifantidou also holds the Olympic Best of 56.96 set in London.

Anouk Vetter 198 points clear going into the 800m, so lap of honour with the mascot guaranteed for the local heroine.

Looking ahead to the heptathlon 800m:

If Vetter does it in 2:27.65 or quicker, she will take the Dutch record (currently 6545) from Schippers. Her PB is 2:20.38 - should she equal that time, her score would be 6641, putting her in the frame for bronze in Rio.

A modest 2:30 would seal the title unless ANDI betters her PB of 2:15.22 (which she ran to snatch the title from Broersen 2 years ago)

On the other hand it means that the action just keeps coming in the stadium which is definitely a good thing. Remember how frustrating it was for field event athletes when they were constantly being interrupted mid-competition by 5 minute ceremonies.. Perhaps they could do them in a bunch at the beginning of the session.
Agree about doing them at the start of the session. i like that idea.

I think they add to the atmosphere, and it's nice to see the medals presented inside the stadium where the athletes won them - rather than a stage (trailer from a lorry) in a car park outside.

Slow start to the evening, some blethering and some javelin allows certain over-excited correspondents to catch up with their snoring.

I think if you offered me my choice of any job in sport the officials on the javelin would be at the very bottom of my list. It gives me fits just watching how close they get to the spears flying down from the sky. I'd rather be a steward at a Millwall game in Russia than a javelin official.

Second semi - Belocian in 13.28 (-1.8m/s) =PB, despite clattering several hurdles on the way!

Six competitors ran a SB or better despite the headwind.

GB win the first heat in 38.12 EL. That's not a bad mark to set with Olympic qualification in mind.

Dasaolu's presence in a relay is also noteworthy in itself.
