The qualifying window is from 1 Jan 2015 to 29 Feb 2016, but surely the ones who ran that time last year will mostly be the same people who have ran it this year?
Outdoor marks count too.

Loz Clarke, a throwback to an age when only posh Brits took part in athletics.

Some good results out of Oz overnight.

Brooke Stratton - 6.94m in the LJ
Ella Nelson - 22.53s in the 200m

Nelson has been training with Jodie Williams in Arizona so hope some of that good form rubs off.
Jodie is sounding very confident in her blogs. Hopefully that isn't the kiss of death

Athletics forum on the red button at 4.30 with BBC commies answering viewer questions.

A very tasty looking W 800 up next. Tough ask for Laura with Majestic Melissa & Jozwik in the field.

Well done, Laura! Beat WL Jozwik with a new indoor PB by a couple of tenths (2:00.70), 0.51 behind Bishop.

Think that's another NR for Bishop there (2:00.19 also a SR), as well as a PB (2:00.70) for Muir.

Ugen wins the women's long jump with a 6.80m SR - she gets wildcard entry to the WICh. Proctor and Sawyers jump 6.76m and 6.58m respectively.

W60m final - Schippers in 7.10 SR, which is slower than the depth of field promised.

That's the first shocker I've seen from DAS - sixth place, I think.

Dina looked like she got a bit psyched out once she realised Big Daf was already on her shoulder at the 10 metre mark. The race was only going to end one way after that.

Lets hope Sawyers can produce a big PB this week so we can send 3 girls in that event!

How does that work?

I've had to pause iplayer so have just watched this. Bit disappointing for the reasons you state. Post race, did I just see Swoboda have a cheeky pinch of Horns bottom? The young scamp

Good long jump. Strength in depth that bodes well for later on in the season.

How does that work?
Same as a Diamond League winner would get except for the indoor season instead - a guaranteed wildcard entry into the World Indoor Championships, so the country can still send the 2 maximum athletes allowed PLUS the indoor tour wildcard too.

The tour, which will have half of the individual indoor championship disciplines as tour events each year across a two-year period, contains several innovative features, including a points system and prize money.

The individual overall winner of each event will receive US $20,000 in prize money and, beginning with the 2016 edition in Portland, will automatically qualify for the next edition of the IAAF World Indoor Championships as a ‘wild card’ entry*.

Damn, Ennaoui has quite the kick. Not enough to beat Chepkwemoi, though...or is it?

Twell slashed 10 seconds off her PB for fifth place.

Good W 3000. Picked up the pace nicely after 1k. Ennaoui left her trademark finish a bit too late and wasn't able to pip Chepkwemoi on the line. Really good run by Steph Twell in 5th (?) at 8:50.24, an indoor PB and well inside the 9:00 standard for Portland. Indoor PBs for all of the first 8.

Only a hundredth between the top two in the W3,000m...whew.

Next up, it's the youngster Chris Brown* in the men's 400m.

[* He's old enough for Masters records, but compared to Collins... ]

I think she rushed her pick up & came up too quickly. Dafne was always likely to win regardless. Rare off day for Dina

Did they really just run the first 200m in 20.58?!

World champion Maslak takes it in 46.02 SB.
