GB win the first heat in 38.12 EL. That's not a bad mark to set with Olympic qualification in mind.
Dasaolu's presence in a relay is also noteworthy in itself. |

No one else can touch that British four, get the baton round in the final and that's another gold in the bag.

POL win the second heat in 38.64 SB. FRA still qualify with 38.85 SB but GBR/GER look like the top squads in tomorrow's final.
Vicaut was impressive on the homestraight but was left with too much to do. |

Khaladovich wins the women's javelin with a 66.34m NR. No medals for the world or Olympic champion.
Julian Reid jumps out to 16.76m (+0.5m/s) SB, still 9cm below the Olympic standard. |

GBR women win their heat in 42.59 SB...not bad, I guess. Was expecting DAS to gain more ground on the backstraight, though I suppose she may be saving something for the final.
42.87 NR for the Swiss quartet. |

Will they bring back Kambundji for the final? That's my favourite relay calamity ever when she chucked the baton away seconds into the race.
