Cant remember seeing such a tight finish
Sydney Olympics 10000m was just as tight, but only two people involved, not four.

David Storl has just won the Shot.

Could of been 5 as the guy in 5th didn't get a clear run and was only just 0.08 behind

Well done Elliot Giles, that was a class field to be in.

Think that puts Poland into the top of the medals table, we can't catch them with 2 wins in the relays.

1:45.54 PB for Eliot Giles to take Bronze! He beat Labosse and Tuka and nearly beat Lewandoski too! That's also a Rio qualifier! I think UKA would be foolish not to take him to Rio now... hopefully they do what they did with Kyle Langford last year and take him with only 1 standard based on future potential!

Brilliant, Elliot Giles! Hands up, I got him wrong. Didn't think he was ready yet.

Michael Rimmer's successor in waiting is here. Great bronze for Giles, but we will be lurking in the wings for the chance to sling some mud in the future!

Have Mr. Edwards and Ms. May packed up and gone home a day early?

Only bronze? Even Ace Rimmer managed a European silver once.

Just caught up with the Athletics after watching Murray (seems Eurosport were watching other sports as well at the start, just more poor coverage from them of these champs).

Been another good day for GB, hoovering up the medals and the relays looking solid for once.

Damn, needed Rooney on the last leg there. Hudson Smith blew that badly.

So Poland (as predicted by me!) win the whole thing - 6G 5S 1B

We finish third - 5G 3S 8B

Wow, I'd have put my mortgage on MHS on that last leg.

Borlee's & Friend snatch it at the death.

Urgh that smarts a bit. Don't know what happened to MHS there.

Looked like Matt was dipping about 10 meters early. His form went out the window.

Rooney would've toughed that out. Matt's lack of racing showed.

Only bronze? Even Ace Rimmer managed a European silver once.
I didn't know he'd even won a medal.

Same top 3 on the placings table but with positions reversed - Britain come 1st!

Really enjoyed those Championships (though I always do)! Amsterdam put on a very good show and there was enough home success for the crowd to also play a big part in making it a good event.

Considering all the names we were missing, overall it's been pretty successful for us I think. Other countries didn't have as big a proportion of their big names not competing.

I must say I enjoyed Martin Gillingham's commentary and enthusiasm. Stuart Storey had quite a number of senior moments though.

That's why the beeb got rid of him wasn't it?

BTW Just watching all the remaining medal ceremonies on Danish TV.

Probably and it''s the way these days that they go for relative youth. I like him a lot but I do find myself cringing a few times and I wish he'd do his homework on tricky-to-pronounce names.

Turned out to be a cracking Champs, I reckon - very glad that I took the 3 days off to watch it all. As usual, UK Athletics were their normal clueless selves - reading between the lines of some of the interviews, they had originally planned to send out a team of duffers but a mutiny by some of the senior athletes like Martyn Rooney shamed them into sending a decent team. I just wonder if some of the big names who didn't participate - Laura Muir, Lyndsay Sharp, Ace Rimmer - regret their decision now. It's a much better preparation for Rio to run in one of these gnarly slow races than to run in one of those staged pacemaker-dominated celebrity processions that you get in the Diamond League.

He still seems to know the names and faces from a generation or two ago, but I still don't think he's twigged that his old mate Alan Lerwill is actually Jazmin Sawyers coach and wasn't just there as a spectator.
