Was not completely convinced by Mo Farah in the 1500m Has he got a little bit to used to the kind of staged races British meeting organisers have been serving up for him this last few years?

And another heretical thought occurs to me: does Seb Coe wear a wig?

Great to see the Monaco meet organisers making so many places available for the kids from the slums!

Not sure if it's worth a chuckle anymore, or just a roll of the eyes.

Still, it was quick race all round. Lynsey cranked out a fine, but distant 1.57

she finished third of the women in that race so not bad , she must wonder whats the point 0.04 off her pb despite being nudged and having to run wide and still gubbed by 2.5 seconds - an absolute disgrace

Men's 200m - Alonso Edward in 20.10 (+0.1m/s).

Nery Brenes fourth place in 20.33 - equals his NR.

The rest of the 800m runners must think what's the point. It must be so disheartning.

Tambieri 2:39 NR in the HJ, just imagine what he could do if he was not weighed down by all that facial hair.

OMG has he done his foot? Stretchered off

Gianmarco Tamberi wins the men's high jump with a 2.39m NR. Robbie Grabarz cleared 2.31m for equal fourth place.

Has he just done his foot in?

He has injured his ankle.

Normal service is resumed in the women's triple jump - Caterine Ibargüen takes it with a jump of 14.96m (-0.2m/s).

Some good performances by the Brits tonight.

Kind of. She ran 8:42 in 2010 but it was in a mixed race (so yeah, it didn't count for PB purposes.)

I think she's in sub-14:50 shape at the moment (her PB, also from 2010, is 14:54) but I'm not sure she'll get a chance to run that this year (I expect it will be too warm in Rio). It might have to wait until next.

But unfortunately most are too afraid to speak out publicly.

With Semenya now saying she will do the 400m in Rio it will be interesting to see if certain US sports media commentators will be equally cowed by the PC narrative if for example she beats Felix.

Tamberi out of Rio with ligament damage. A huge loss.

Looks like Berlin will do the athletics double-header as well - it has been awarded the 2018 'Parathletics' ECh.

If she thought that Berlin was a media maelstrom I suspect it will be nothing compared to when she beats America's darling of the track.

Gutted for half beard. Athletics needs characters & he will be sorely missed. Hope he can come back strongly next year.

Not the best race by Mo but he still has more 1500 speed than any of his rivals over 5K & 10K. Good PB by Charlie Brice behind as well.

Caught up earlier as I was out last night. Great run by Eilidh.

Jonnie Peacock has run 10.68 a big PB for him at Loughborough this afternoon. Big boost ahead of defending his title

So Caster's saying she will go for a 400/800 double. That's properly hard-core.

I fancy her chances, especially as I haven't seen Felix run at all this season, but the fallout could be unpleasant.

Ouch. I only found out he'd been injured this morning as I turned off before the men's steeplechase started. That's a shame, because despite looking a plonker () I've grown to like the chap.

Quite a few sprinters have taken advantage of today's weather in Loughborough, which appears to be our equivalent of Eugene (including Peacock's time which involved a 1.4m/s tailwind). Don't think it'll affect the Olympic team as the qualification window ended a few days ago.

100m
Joel Fearon - 10.04 (+1.7m/s) PB
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey 10.08 (+1.7m/s) =PB

110mH
David Omoregie - 13.25 (+1.2m/s) PB

-----

Also reading on Twitter that Richard Kilty clocked a 10.01 (+1.9m/s) PB in Hexham.

Shaunae Miller said on Friday that she isn't doubling over 200/400m, neither is Wayde Van Niekerk. Both have PBs that could get them into the finals of the 200m and both have medal potential. Other than LaShawn Merritt I can't think of anyone high profile who is doing the double, and the woman who made the change of schedule happen didn't qualify!

Poor Melissa Bishop. She ran a 1:57.43 NR last night in Edmonton (winning by 4.5 seconds) but probably won't even get a sniff of a medal this year.

Shame about Omoregie not running this during the qualification period, but still a brilliant performance nonetheless, puts him 5th on the all time list.

I suppose his 13.50 from last year might be enough for an IAAF invite perhaps? Although it would require at least 3 of the athletes with Q times to pull out/not get selected for their teams. Not sure when the IAAF Invite deadline is for accepting them.

Worrying signs re KJT. 3rd in her 100mh heat at Lufbra in 13.85s (+0.6), no show in the final and scrubbed from the LJ and HJ.

Finally got a chance to catch-up with some run, throw and jump after being bunkered down with the footy. Didn't even manage to see any of the Euro athletics champs

Decent night of Athletics. Shaping up nicely for Rio. The field events (apart from the women's hammer of course ) look like they could be even more competitive and tasty than the track - especially certain races....

The only hope I can see for the chasing pack is if Caster follows through with her aim of doubling-up. Then she may be tired enough to give the others a chance.

Agreed. It's a huge pity. Liked him from the off. He's a character and he delivers.

Bit of a Brit bias but for me that was the performance of the night. Even betterring the vialiant PB efforts of my future wifey, Steph Twell. She destroyed them on the second bend and maintained form. Anyone know what's happened to Kalise spencer and Henojva?

Ha ha, great run by Bishop and good to see your obsession continues Maybe me you, Melissa and Steph can double date after Rio.? You know, just to, ah, console them on missing out
