Please try again shortly
I replaced the batteries in the remote but still same result
Also when I try to select programs 19 and 18 they keep breaking up I did did a digital program search but still the same everything else is fine.Anyone got any ideas.

I don't think it works on all HD channels, so try an SD one to see what happens.

Red button works on BBC1&2 HD. It doesn't work on BBC News Channel HD and possibly not on any other BBC com7 channels. BBC4 HD isn't on at the moment so I can't check.

The fact that you have breakup on some channels gives the impression you have a low signal.

We only use it on BBC 1 and 2.We have three other televisions around the house and they are ok..Today was the first time I have seen this message.

I have a Humax PVR-9300T set top box which is connected to the TV.I really only use it to record programs although I can watch programs using it.There is a Text button on it and I can get into the text service using this option. One other thing the two programs that break up are ok if I watch them using the set top box.I have forgotten how to check the strength of the channels which are numbers 52,49,42,44 and 41 does anyone that procedure.

I have just tuned my TV into the humax and gone into signal detecton and the strength reading is 81% and the quality reading is 100%.But not sure how to check these readings using the TV settings

Just found this on Google..
http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/13LW6001...lk_lw_top.html
I have always pressed the red button to access the text service and the yellow to go back but looking at this manual it says to press the text button which is located under the 9 button but nothing happens when I press it.

I have a Samsung Smart Tv and I have not been able to access digital text for almost 3 days now. I assumed at first it was something to do with the BBC website hack but yours is the only post I have seen regarding this.

I have been fiddling with my TV trying to get it to work, done a reset and still not working.
I have found no info anywhere from the BBC confirming there is an issue with digital text, so am not sure if my TV is at fault or not.
I am going to install a previous firmware out of desperation if the TV will let me.

I can access the text service on the other televisions and also if I use the Humax box to watch the TV I press the text button on it's remote and get the text ok.Also the two programs that break up when using the TV are fine when I am using the set top box to watch tv

Hmmm, must be my television at fault then.
Damn!

****EDIT***

Hang on, just had a thought.

I am not able to access digital text on my Freesat box either.
Same television but a different source of text.

I shall dig deeper as I do have a couple of freeview boxes gathering dust somewhere.

I've got the same humaxbox but can't check it until the evening.

My humax is fine on Sd but has no interest at all on HD. I can only assume this is a limitation of the device.

I can get the Red button to work sometimes but it's very slow and erratic - I tried it on a couple of TVs and DVB boxes and it's either sluggish or totally unresponsive. .

I'm not sure if it's connected with the recent BBC outage but it seems likely.

I have been experimenting.

I can get digital text with my Freesat box, although it is the new Red Button+ service.
I can get digital text with a Freeview box. This is the normal version. The one I prefer.

With my Samsung Smart TV, I can sometimes get it, but it is the new service 'BBC Red Button+'. There is an option within it to revert back to the normal digital text, but even though I go through the motions to select it and save the configuration, if I do manage to get the text service, it is always the new version which I hate as it is very graphical and I just want to read what I want.

So, I still really don't know if my TV is at fault or it's a Samsung issue or the BBC are at fault.
At least I have access on my Freeview box so I can wait and see what develops.

Glad I found this, my Panasonic TV has the same problem, text button does not work, red button does intermittently, been resetting TV etc, no help, so guess there is a problem with the text service, was OK till a couple of days ago...

Still does not explain why I can get the text service on my other televisions ok and on the Humax box but not my Sony TV.
Being a member of the Sony Community I thought I would post a thread on there to see if I could get some advice but cannot see how to start a new thread and wondered if anyone can help. click here

Read the Sony forum and followed the advice re internet, tuned my modem off and text works fine, turn it back on and stops, looks like it was the BBC being hacked the other day

I seem to be able to get the text service now but am still unable to get TV stations 18 and 19.I get my signal from the Heathfield transmitter and the channel numbers I should be using are 52,49,42,44 and 41 but the two stations I am having problems with 18 and 19 seem to be using channel 28 and the signal quality id 0 and the strength is only 54 so I need to receive those two stations on one of the other channels but do not know how to go about changing and dont know why they are suddenly using channel 28

Lcn 18 =4music and 19 =yesterday are transmitted on the second if Arqiva muxes also called ARQ B or COM 3.
This also has Dave ja but on lcn 25 and spike in 31 .. Do these work ?
That mux is transmitted frm heathfield on UHF channel 41
The signal in UHF 28 comes from crystal palace ...

I suggest doing a manual retune on ch41 see www.digitaluk.co.uk or your TV set info for how to do a manual retune on a single channel.

Thanks technologist when I go into digital set up then digital manual tuning and select channel 41 it comes up as signal quality 100 and strength 100 it says 32 services found on channel 41 but not sure how to save/or change from channel 28

Have just come out of digital setup and selected program's 18 and 19 and even though they are both still showing channel 28 and the signal quality and strength is still 0 and 50 the picture is fine and not sure why that is.Cannot seem to change channel from 28 to 41.

It has now gone back to how it was programs 18 and 19 keep breaking up.I go into settings then digital setup then digital manual tuning the channel showing is 28 so click on it and change it to 41 then the problem how do I save that change because if I come out of digital manual tuning then it stays as channel 28 how do I change it to 41
