Mick Carter just seems like Danny dyer playing himself a lot of the time.

I didn't realise they were so close in real life as well kellie seems very close to him

I really enjoyed it. They seem like really close friends. 😊 Very funny as well but also interesting to see what they thought about some of the scenes and also to hear how they did them. That coming out scene was a standout to me.

Great episode of back to ours. Danny Dyer has a very high opinion on himself/the Carters like they're sliced bread but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Would've been better if they hadn't bleeped out Danny's swearing. He's well known for his colourful language and if that kind of thing offends people they can just turn off.

what did you think?

I might have a watch tomorrow, I didnt think there would have enough scenes to have a really good ep. like with the brannings and the masoods they have years and years of storylines

It was one of the longest episodes I think. It was alright, Danny and Kellie seem really close with each other which is good because it gives them both incentive to stick around.

Fantastic. Really insightful. So Danny Dyer was head-hunted while Kellie Bright and the other carters had to audition (not sure about "Stan" - he was probably head hunted as well). Insight into Dyer's view of his films - fed up of finding them hidden away in the bargain bucket. Then realising working in the marquee BBC soap - he wouldn't be hidden away in the bargain bucket - he would be beamed into their homes direct. Then his hard man reputation versus the "soft" character he is playing. Some wanting him to succeed others wanting him to fail. No story-arc as in film, but having to hit the ground running. Over 300 episodes already in two years. Iconic scenes having a powerful impact on so many - not just acting but actual broaching real everyday issues. Full on acting, no make up having to let yourself go physically and mentally. Rehearsals, last minute change of scripts. Pride in his father - son scene saying he loved his son and if his son was gay that was alright. Dyer couldn't watch the rape scene but Kellie was wide eyed as if that was the first time she had watched it - saying Matt was more nervous than she was and had more to "act". Really interesting.

I think Mick has more potential but the writers are stifling him, like the part where he was talking about headbutting Dean but the writers weren't having it. Why not? The show needs a bit of that fire.

He has his own sense of justice and how he feels the character should react - but ultimately it is the screen writers and producer that determine this - and they are the ones that have the bigger picture in mind.

Thought Kellie was more interesting in her expressions, I don't think she buys what Danny had to say much about being so good etc but allows it as she obviously likes him a lot.

Danny dyer basically plays Danny Dyer in all his roles much like Ray Winstone....even Winstone as Henry 8th was more Winstone than Henry lol
