True, but Kiss Me Once was such a disappointing album with no hit potential to appeal to casual music lovers.
Once the loyal fanbase buy the album upon release week, who is left to buy the album a month later? This is why having killer songs that appeal to a wider audience is key in having success.
Seriously, who was ever going to listen to I Was Gonna Cancel and think "wow, this song is going to be a massive hit"? Nobody, because it's crap. I still can't believe someone at Kylie's record label thought that was worthy of being a hit single. The levels of disillusion are right there in that very decision. Either someone at the record company hasn't a clue, or someone at the record company really wants to see Kylie fail miserably.
No wonder Kylie is struggling to do well in the charts. Then again, Kylie might be aware of this and is happy just releasing music and if something becomes a surprise hit then that's a bonus.
