Copying Music To PC
OK,
I freely admit I know nothing about Apples, my daughter has one (as does my wife). As I understand it, Apple have made it nearly impossible to back up music files (even non DMA ones like MP3s) from one device onto another, is that right? I ask because some of my kids musiuc is directly ripped (as MP3) from CDs she owns and she would like to copy them to an iPad she also owns. Is there a way to do that without resorting to Apple's cloud services? Thx Keke |

Yes you'll need iTunes on you PC (free download) http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/
I assume here that the existing ripped music is already on an iOS (Apple) devise like an iPhone or iPod in which case the device is probably already synced with the PC? Just sync it with iTunes (which should copy all the stuff over to the computer). It may well be you already have the device synced with iTunes already, you don't say. Then sync the iPad with iTunes where you should be able to select the music you wan't synced. The music is ripped so should be copy-able. It's always worth making sure you have the latest version of iTunes too. |

You could also use iFunbox to back up all songs to the PC (as well as other media if you want).

iFunbox, despite it's name is probably your most useful serious tool when dealing with Apple iOS devices. It works best if your iOS device is jailbroken, but is still useful if it isn't.
Apple should really provide an official route to jailbreak, rather than relying on third-parties to release them as they still do. |
