Not a bad effort but it really does bring home to you just how good Adele is live Granted, Celine is 20 years older of course.

That was great. I saw Celine at Vegas back in 2006 and she was brilliant and I say that as a non-fan!

On the Nation's favourite Bond song on ITV it had footage of Adele singing Skyfall live and she was awful, sounded flat, so she isn't always note perfect.

Wow, even better than the original. Celine's voice is everything.

a standard comment on every youtube cover. I'm not sure anyone ever means it though.

This is a horrible version, the wrong song for the wrong type of voice

it could of being 100% perfect and you would still diss it as you don't rate Celine at all, as a non fan I thought it was great. Its always hard to beat the original version of songs but this comes very close.

How anyone can say it wasn`t great i don`t know. im certainly not saying it was better than Adele`s version but celine did it justice thats for sure.

Jesus, what has happened to her voice?

Her French Candian accent is the most pronounced I've heard it outside of her Francophone music. As a sort of fan must say there were shades of greatness but also shades of eh Celine stop.

Im a fan of Celines. She's awesome. But I thought it was interesting at best. Kind of middled aged it up. Or Vegased it up.
Having said that, out of the Adele comparisons with the younger singers, I do think she sings the most like Celine. Meaning neither of them usually stretch one syllable into three or four. Not a lot of runs going on.
No one is going to sing it like Adele does. Not even close. She didn't massacre it though so thats a good thing with any Adele cover.

On a side note. I'd love Adele to cover Loved Me Back To Life. Wished there was a song like this on 25. Hats off to Sia again. She wrote a good song here.

I think Demi Lovato does better than Celine, she's note perfect and even has the Adele hand movements.

Can we expect Adele to do 'Skyscraper', maybe she already has?

Every song Adele has covered has pretty much been better than the original. I doubt she will do any new covers during the upcoming tour. There are too many of her own songs she has to perform. It'd be cool if she did a tribute at Grammys. Maybe Unforgetable.

There are still people who genuinely believe Make You Feel My Love is an Adele original - reminds me of I Will Always Love You (originally wriiten and sung by Dolly). Having said that, it's not exactly hard to better Dylan's 'singing', is it? I would imagine he's pretty happy with all the royalties Adele's cover has brought his way.

I wasn't serious about 'Skyscraper'. I like Adele's version of 'Make you feel my love' but I also like the Bryan Ferry version.

As for the Grammys, I would say 'Miss you like Crazy' and probably with Mariah Carey and/or Gladys Knight for a tribute to Natalie Cole perhaps?

I like it. I enjoyed her previous Rolling in the deep cover.

Celine is well passed her prime now. I'm not a fan but in her prime she would have wiped the floor with Adele.

I'm pretty certain that celine dion wasn't trying to do it justice rather than sing it as an impersonater I Adele. If you listen you can hear she's trying to sing in adeles voice, rather than in celines voice

Theres no wiping the floor at the level of Celine or Adele. It's just silly to even say. That's like saying in her prime Whitney would have wiped the floor with Celine. It's insulting. We aren't talking about TS or Katy here. Adele and Celine both have strong voices. Its all subjective at this point. Which voice do you like better. What songs appeal to you more.
With all the shit singers out there, I'm glad we have a few good ones. We shouldn't be pitting them against each other. Her cover may have sucked to some. It's ok to have that opinion. It doesnt make her less of a singer. Adele songs are hard to cover.

No it's not disrespectful. It's just the truth. Celine as much as I find her boring is a better singer than Adele. Adele has a nice voice but she is not on the level of Celine or Whitney or Mariah (prime) when it comes to vocals.

Just your opinion. Not fact. Only 'the truth' to someone who shares your opinion. Silly argument anyway, a bit like saying Muhammed Ali in his prime would have beaten Mike Tyson in his prime. No-one knows and it couldn't happen so, again, down to opinion.

PS It's not like Celine is ancient anyway. 47. Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey can still belt them out and they are both in their 70s...

Celine speaks so highly of Adele and loves her music. It all seemed so effortless to me, like she wasn't trying to do an actual cover version of the song, just sing a part of the song that she's enjoying with the crowd. I'm sure she could do this song so much justice. Her RITD cover was fantastic

Yes it is only an opinion of course. However I think you can compare when you have evidence of what someone sounded like in their prime you can compare that to the modern day singer. It's not like a boxing match where they would have to get into a physical contest.

No one will sound the same as they did when they were 20!years younger. Peoples voices change as they get older and suffer from wear and tear. Adele will not sound the same as she does now in 20 years. I like to compare people when they are in their prime.

Gosh it's amazing that people are now holding Adele up to be the second coming of Christ. A few years ago people were calling her a poor mans Amy Winehouse.

No question. Mid to late 1990s live Celine really was something to behold (experienced in person) so really compared to then she is certainly past her prime. However, she's still got major chops (as they say, well, do they still say that?...).

This is all opinion. Adele's voice movies ME more. Celine's voice has a weird inflection. Many say it's her accent. Ok. It's still there. And it bothers the shit out of me at times. And I enjoy her music. And I really like her. And Michael Buble lisps. So? These are just my opinions. I think Barbra is much better. Would have dragged Celine across the floor and tossed her in the alley. So? Just my opinion. I think Whitney was better then Celine. So? I get to listen to both when I want and not just the one. Lucky me.
