Oh, I thought you were joking - but he actually is a contributer to that thread

In other news, I have a feeling this thread might end up locked.

What an extraordinary comment for one woman to make about another ... judgemental and crass in the extreme.

It's been enlightening on this thread today and not always in a good way. So many bitter and plain mean posts - thankfully countered by plenty of more positive ones. Yes everyone is entitled their opinion but why begrudge or try to taint others happiness? If everything that is surmised today about GG is accurate then couldn't it just be that two people met through work, fell in love and just like thousands up and down the country want to make a go of it - or is that too much of a stretch for some people? Yes one of them had to end a relationship first .... hardly something shocking is it? Only with GG they are trying to do all this whilst in the public eye.
At the end of the day they are someone's son, daughter, brother, sister, friend and if they were yours or mine I'm sure we'd want people to show a little more kindness.
Give them a break - please.

The wisest thing I have read in a long time. I find the older I get, the less I judge.

I've rewatched this interview and I don't think he implies anything of the sort. I presume you think that because Jason was so vague about the circumstances of how they gave Giovanni the job on Strictly that you think he must have been a former boyfriend of his, or some such thing. Although I don't have any inside knowledge of this I think it is highly likely that Giovanni was recommended to Strictly by Joanne Clifton who has known him for several years. Maybe, for whatever reason, Jason didn't want to mention this so he chose to make a joke about where they had found him instead.

Plenty more fish in the sea sean .

All the same , dumped by his girlie and buried in a drain , poor sean . Not been a great year .
He got a lot of flack for his acting in corrie , but to be fair acting gangsterish in a cosy old soap opera where norris ordering too many boxes of mint imperials is considered high drama is a tricky balancing act and I think he coped well . Too tony soprano would have looked ridiculous in the circs .

Jason said Giovanni was always down in Soho. It was nothing to do with how he got the job.

Yes, they found him hanging around Soho, or words to that effect.

I thought he was implying that Giovanni was gay also with that remark. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

No, he didn't. He said jokingly that "They found Giovanni wandering down at Soho" when asked by Zoe how they had recruited the new dancers. And yes, he is in the programme most likely because of Jo Clifton since they trained together in Bologna.

Careful! He'll have the Clifton pitchforkers after him as well as the Moral Madge pitchforkers

Personally, I'm rather glad they kept it under wraps on the show. A showmance would have been their 'story' and would have amounted to a lot of redtop/internet attention, but it was more tactful to keep professional life as a separate thing.

I wasn't questioning how he got the job. I was just replying to the poster who answered another poster by saying he didn't get the job because he was gay.

Hard to think which one is worse. The Clifton Hataz or the Puritans Reload 2016. Maybe they're all the same, who knows?

hehe. I thought that, great minds

Anyway, saying Giovanni was wandering around Soho was it was a joke. You know, like saying, oh I dunno.... they found Gleb moonlighting as a shop window dummy (he didn't actually say that BTW).
He wasn't actually wandering around Soho, and even if he was, it's not that gay any more, and that's not how he got his audition. That was the Clifton connection, which is equally dodgy and annoying to some.
