Every time my dog goes to the vets, the vet asks asks if the dog has been chipped and scans for the chip. It's now. "yes, you checked last time, and the time before that and the time before that and..."

What the law means is from April, if you get a dog from a breeder, the dog will have to be chipped by the breeder but also the new owner's details will have to be registered before the dog can be taken away.

It isn't going to help if it's a backstreet breeder and I wonder how they are going to be able to enforce it, too.
