Anyone know much about skype?
Wasn't too sure where to put this but since it's abit about my phone and we all use Skype on mobiles I thought I'd put it here....
So my friend phoned my mobile phone via his computer/skype from Japan, then he sent me some messages which came through like a text along with number that looks like a mobile phone number. I sent him a message back and it sent just liked a text message? My question is would he have got it or not? I don't have a Skype account or anything I just replied to it like a text and it sent straight away like a normal text does, didn't get any error message etc. Any ideas? I'm going to create a Skype anyway but just wondered how the above works if the person your calling doesn't have Skype. Thanks |

Sounds like they are using Skype credit which enables you to call normal landlines and mobiles. Also text I think.
Basically on your free Skype account you can buy credit to make non-skype calls. So he would have got the text I would have thought. |

Ahh ok I thought it's free to use Skype even to call landline, shows what I know!
I suppose it can't be free otherwise nobody would use a landline! Thanks for the reply |
