Hi guys.

I need a new phone, but only want to go mid-range. I'm torn between the Galaxy S5 Neo and the arriving Galaxy A5 2016.

I love the design of the S5 Neo, particularly the nice silver colour. But I'm also gearing towards the A5 2016 because of its fast charging and fingerprint scanner.

The S5 Neo also has a 16MP camera versus A5's 13 but both have 5MP front cameras. The S5 Neo also has LED notification and is waterproof.

I want to go with these two as I like the Amoled displays, Touchwiz and decent batter life on both.

What you think?

Personally, I'd go with the newer device. The A5 inherits the design of the current flagship (the S6) and, the fact that it has a better fingerprint reader and will support Samsung Pay (when it launches), is attractive. Plus, it's just a more classier looking device all round.

The S5 Neo is still very plasticky, but retains a key feature in having the removable battery, but the A5 (2016), includes fast charging / wireless support. And the 13mp camera has OIS, which the S5 lacks.

Guess you'll need to check the prices when the A5 is released and make a call then...

Yeah thanks Asifzed. I think you're right. I think it will come down to the price.

Didn't realise the S5 didn't have OIS. Thanks.
