Mobile Phone Contract Question
my daughter has taken her mobile phone into an 02 shop for repair .the phone a sony experira was found to be not repairable,so we have been given an option to get it replaced.to do this we needed to close the contract on this phone .by this the phone to date has been on finance with so much left to pay ,this had to be payed before the new phone came to being . she does have a new phone new with a new contract & pay monthly bill .the question is should we have had to pay off the remainder of the handset cost before changing the phone? even if we could not afford to do such thing? was this right? or could of we of carried whats left of the current finance to the new phone?
