I have got Aspergers, I am very shy & introverted & incapable of being out-going.

They have on previous series, so hopefully this won't be any different.
Thought so. If the Welsh rugby player ends up single and suddenly realises he's gay, I'm first in line!

I'm not an expert on Tourettes, but from what I've seen I reckon his must be a mild form because usually when you see people with Tourettes (and for me I'm talking about TV as I've no personal experience) they shout out swear words with no control over it.
A quick Google/Wikipedia often helps.

James should just show them pictures of that nice house he lives in.
Oh my goodness, it was a lovely place!! It was like a cottage mansion!!

Didn't the last really good looking lad with Tourette's get married to one of his dates on this programme
Don't know, I thought the viewers might find out what happened at the end (perhaps I'm mixing it up with First Dates) but I guess there will be a catch-up programme or in the last episode of series.

I think this was the first or second series he was lovely and surfed and was a really nice bloke but his tourettes was really bad http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/u...fferer-5037113

Awww, Tammy and the Welsh guy were especially lovely.

I love this show, I'm so happy that they portray it and show it like they do rather than something tacky.

That's ridiculous.

It was clearly stated that on appearance girls go up to him but then get uncomfortable with his tourettes and aspergers and let it go. Which just proves some people are very shallow.
Make that most people and you would be closer to the mark.

Only 5-15% of tourettes sufferers have swearing tics. Unfortunately the media promotes this minority as the norm of the condition.

I love this show.

I was joking with the OH, that during his chat with the dating agency ladies, if the rugby guy was into MILF's, he had a threesome in the bag off.

It seemed to me that on his date his aspergers worked for him and not against; his date seemed to be into him because he didn't say much, or give much away.

Tonight, when the girl who had caught sepitisimia (sp) was starting to cry before her date, I was choking a bit, and was willing it to go well for her.

I was chuffed when it did, whether it goes any further or not, she gained a lot from it, and will have given her confidence a big boost.

Only because he was attractive.

Being attractive helps, in many situations in life, not just in dating. And not just whether you have Aspergers or some other condition either.

Being attractive might help you get a girlfriend or partner but having Asperger's makes it difficult to keep a long term relationship.

After the 'honeymoon' period when people normally accept each other's foibles, all the bad things about having Asperger's start coming through and it takes someone with understanding to put up with them.

I thought this was a good article about having a relationship with someone with Asperger's, especially the bit about mind blindness.

She's a very switched-on, socially aware girl but James seemed to struggle with the social awareness and conversation side of things. Not criticising him, but Chloe always got on with me and my mates (we all went to the same Asperger's social group for a time) because we were all quite socially capable so she felt on the same wavelength as us. Those two did not seem on the same wavelength at all. I could be wrong though. I'll have to ask her
It may have just been nerves or the way it was portrayed on TV, but she didn't come across that well in terms of social awareness. He seemed more socially capable.

Tammy was lovely and i didn't notice her disfigurement after a while as her personality shone through. The surgery she has already had is fantastic. I wish her all the best for the future, the guy she went on the date with was lovely. I hope we get a follow up to them. This is the first time i have watched this so was a bit sad we didn't get an update at the end.

If I remeber rightly we get a catch up right at the end of the series I think they like to give people time to form relationships rather than go for the snap judgement .This is actually the most successful date type programme Ive watched they have had at least two weddings through it.I just like it because the people are less false and they arent after fame.I think theres only been one person ive not warmed to and she had dwarfism and went parachuting but she was quite mean to her date

Excellent article in the link, I am a female Aspie. Relationships are hell on earth so I avoid, always. That's' why I admire the Aspies on the programme - I could never do that - not in a million years. I stick to my dogs, I can cope with them .

Mind Blindness is a good way of putting it.

Most ACCURATE and RELEVANT post in the thread. Attractive people always have an advantage in everything in life, and as unfair as that is, sadly that's just the way life is. Some are born lucky, others not.

Apart from the obliviously genetically gifted like Angelina Jolie with most attractive people its just hard work attention to detail and discipline, even Angelina wouldn't stop much traffic if she gained 50lb

What UTTER RUBBISH!!!.......never heard of the saying "you can't turn a sows ear into a silk purse"?!!!.....

Yes, of course some self discipline IS needed but FFS, just because you have self discipline it isn't going to turn you into someone attractive if you are ugly!!!

Always big and clever (and a case of having no SENSIBLE reply) when you have to rely on a personal insult reply!. You must be so proud of yourself!!...go and have a cookie and look at yourself in the mirror!!

Apparently Angelina Jolie has had a 'nose-job'. I'm unattractive & have Aspergers & depression & anxiety & OCD, I did eventually find my soul-mate at age 37 - he is 'normal'.

Whats your problem you like being right and I told you were? On the matter of sensible discussions I was more than prepared for one until you began your post by ridiculing my contribution and then going on to shout (block caps) and swear, so I concluded that if you were that ugly on the inside you were probably ugly on the outside as well. So off you run and talk to all your internet Friends about Boobys on the tv ladies because that is as close as you probably get. mean while I have to prepare to go out after all it is Saturday night
.

Kate Middleton wouldn't have got to be royalty if she wasn't as pretty as she is.
