I also find it an uplifting and heart warming programme at times,
but I wonder are dating agencies (not just those that specialise in certain client types), responsible for matching them if things go dangerously wrong.

I.e. the Harry Potter fan taking a girl in his invisibility cloak only for her never to reappear ?

Or are there disclaimers that the clients or those responsible for them, have to agree to.

Not looking to offend anybody, l ask as a genuine question.

A lot of the more vulnerable clients have a chaperone with them.

I think "Made for Television" is the answer, here. I'm quite sure the production company of "The Undateables" recruit some people, girls especially, to go on dates with some of the clients. They are obviously paid for this "work".

Do you remember in the last series that dwarf chap from Essex went out with an absolutely stunning girl? People on here, myself included, commented on how ridiculous such a pairing was; she could have gone out with anyone she chose to and certainly didn't need to go anywhere near a dating company!

Just started watching previous episodes of this after also getting into First Dates late. This is an excellent series with lots of sad but also funny moments.

Whoever is in charge of casting for this show needs to lay off with all of the autistic people.

I kinda agree. Two out of the three people this week had autism/aspergers. Although maybe the majority of people that apply have autism

Lucas was lovely. I didn't even really notice his disfigurement.

Not sure if it was shown at US Pace, but there is a programme out there called, Autism In Love. I have it to watch later, but it sounds like a good show if people can get it.

Why is it not as compelling? Do you dislike them for being 'irregular'?

Yes! It appears so, I'm part of a local History club and I got sent a circular email last year looking for a girl to date an autistic guy (with an interest in History) for their TV show about disabled dating....I'm 99.9% sure this is from The Undateables production staff.

(If people want to read the email I'm sure I can find it, copy and paste it....blanking out anything personal though).

They all seem to be from well-off backgrounds, all live in nice houses & have cars & plenty of money.

Do you not ever feel lonely with not having a relationship or friends? I know how it can feel to find people irritating and to want them to be gone but I'd go mad without some human contact now and again!

I hope the 2nd date works out for Bethaney, they seem like a good couple.

Oh good we see some past relationships next week.

Bethany is lovely. Poor girl had to make all the running! I felt so sorry for her when she said she felt a 'spark' and he said he didn't. I'm not sure he knew what she meant though. They seem a potential good match. Fingers crossed.

Next week should be good, I like the catch up shows.

I get that people they want on the show are ones who have a disability like down syndrome but why was the red haired girl last night on there? She didnt look like she had a learning problem.

Same with the guy who was a magician.

No I don't think he did. He was keen enough asking her to be his girlfriend and going in for that kiss though

He was 17, I thought you had to be 18 to join a dating agency.

They said he had learning difficulties, but surely he needs to be reasonably intelligent to be able to understand how those magic tricks work, also he had a lot of books on the shelves in his home & they didn't look like the type of books aimed at 7 year olds.... All that was 'wrong' with him as far as I could tell was him being a bit 'odd' - I bet he's cleverer than a lot of 'normal' people, well that was the impression I got.
