Bruno Mars breaks the 2 million taboo with "Uptown Funk" does it deserve to be up there with Elton John, Queen, Wham!, Band Aid, The Beatles, Travolta & John, Frankie and Boney M?

Justin Bieber has 2 songs in the Top 10 of the year both just short of 1 million but will pass it soon.

UF is basically 2 chords. It took something like 12 writers to complete it. 6 writers per chord, it's not as though it's got a massive amount of lyrics either.

Damn good song though

I also seem to remember that due to similarities with the riff and melody with "Uptown Funk" and The Gap Band's "Oops up inside your head (do you want to get up and dance)"; the songwriters of the latter also have credit now.

When Mark Ronson did his set at Glastonbury last year, he left the song right until the end and had numerous special guests - his musical heroes - like Grandmaster Flash playing the role of DJ, Mary J. Blige and George Clinton, the leader of the funk bands, Parliament and Funkadelic to make up for the absence of Bruno Mars. I thought it was really great.
