hi i have a sc-hte80 soundbase connected to a panasonic tx-40c300b tv with hdmi lead through the arc terminals. when i switch them on i sometimes get sound for a couple of seconds then silence so i have to do the volume on the soundbase which will sometimes have gone back to zero or will jump back to zero as i am turning it up! i have to turn the soundbase on and off and keep doing this till it starts working then it;s all fine till i turn them off when i will have to go through it all again.i have tried other leads and this is the second soundbase as i returned the first one thinking it faulty as it done the same thing. could it be a tv fault! it's driving me mad. i tried panasonic support but advise was pretty basic and didn't address the problem at all.

Have you checked the TV settings to switch the speaker to being 'Home Cinema' or 'External Speaker', rather than TV speaker?

Also you need to 'pair' the devices.

I've got a Panasonic cs620 attached to a Panasonic soundbase - whilst the initial set up was fiddly, it's been as good as gold since and never needed re-setting.
