02 4G Question
Ive been on o2 pay as you go for about 3 years now, only recently purchased the Nexus 6P phone. What is the cheapest tariff for 4G and the amount of Data you get currently paying £20 a month for 3G but seeing that my phone is now 4G thinking about making the switch.

I'd ring and ask O2, they might have an offer for you or something, does the website say?
I'm not on O2, maybe somebody will post if they know, but you could probably just look it up or call them. |

I also suggest looking at the website. I pay £28 for my airtime and I get 8GB of data with O2.

Might be worth getting a Three pay as you go SIM to see how you get on with that in your area, as they do SIM only plans for £20/month (use to be £18/month) that give you unlimited data, 12gb tethering, 200mins and also unlimited texts.
They also do 4gb for £16/month. Also you get free calls to 0800 and 0808 numbers and also free roaming in loads of countries. Just worth considering. Plans are here (you can click on the button at the bottom to show more plans: http://www.three.co.uk/Store/SIM/Plans_for_phones |

If you are happy with 02, they offer 2GB 4G data, 1500 minutes and 4000 texts on Big Bundles PAYG for £20 per month, just make sure you have a 4G SIM which you should do since the 6P takes a nano SIM. Also it may require a call to customer services to get 4G enabled. |

If you can get 4G already then your account should be 4G enabled already. As for data usage I switched from an unlimited 3G to a 5GB 4G tariff with a 6P on 02 and my usage has not really changed but your usage may vary. |

It's just faster when you do use data with much better latency and depending on network at the moment, better coverage than 3G. What might cause you to use more data is if you go from O2 to EE. I know you said you were staying in Plymouth a lot but on O2 venture out and you'll have very slow broken 3G and mostly 2G. In fact here in rural South Devon I am bathed in O2 2G with no 3G or 4G at all. So using a lot of data would be a challenge frankly. On EE though you will have 4G most of the time (and 3G) wherever you are with silly speeds. |

Popular misconception that having 4G means more data usage.
Quite a few video streaming apps adapt the bitrate of the stream to match the available bandwidth of your connection. Thus faster connection = higher bitrate = more data used. It all depends what you use data for .
