Do you think the European team would have been stronger if Paul Casey and Shane Lowry qualified automatically, as i think they should have easily qualified but they were not consistent enough

Paul casey refused to rejoin the European tour so basically ruled himself out of consideration.
Lowry hasn't had a great year compared to last year
At least Rory's found some form, great round today to win the Deutsche Bank Championship. Wonder if the change away from a Nike putter has helped him.
3 GB & NI players in the Fedex Top 10 but only one of them going to the Ryder Cup. 4 Americans in the Top 10 and all of them will probably be in their team.

Yes I don't like Mcilroy but it was probably important he got a us tour win before the Ryder cup.
It was a very good round considering how poorly he started the tournament
Danny Willett seems to be coming back into form. Just went 69 holes without dropping a shot. His only bogey was at the 3rd hole in the 1st round, still wasn't enough to win though as Molinari beat him by a single shot.

You wonder if the Americans have it right leaving one pick really late, team Europe could have done with the Ryder cup experience of molinari

I said that to someone at the time.
We're gonna gave 2 or 3 players in great form but not in the team. To have the best chance of winning it would be ideal if you could have all the form players in the squad.

I think we are going to get a good thrashing by the Americans as Davis Love will be well prepared
Well done Rory on winning the Fed Ex Cup for the first time
So the players Davis Love could pick as his wildcard for the US Ryder Cup team are
Ryan Moore
Kevin Chappell
Justin Thomas
Bubba Watson
I would go for Ryan Moore as he is red hot form and thats what Davis Love wanted. And it is a pity he did not have another Wildcard so he could pick Kevin Chappell as well, instead of picking the out of form Rickie Fowler who has never won a Ryder Cup match

Hmm. Did any of the current US team ever play with Arnold Palmer? Rather different, a number of players in the Europe side after Seve's death had played on tour with him hadnt they?
