I am never convinced it is truely live
Possibly only one group on the course at a time. |

How much of the televised golf is truly live anyway when there are lot going on at the same time all over the course throughout the coverage?
Possibly only one group on the course at a time. |

A couple of "contending" tournaments for him though is encouraging. |

Looks like a good finish to the golf tonight Justin Rose up there
Mcilroy just behind, however when he is up there usually the Rory waffle from sky gets into full swing |

liked the scorecard they just put up for yesterday's round at sawgrass
the worst eclectic score for the field was 124, 52 over par edit : cant remember ever seeing the greens at sawgrass look this bad, looks like they have almost lost them |

Will complete my weekend with the final round but don't think it's going to be that exciting although you never know.
McIlory not featuring again day and spieth have left him behind in recent times. Ewan Murray saying Ken Duke as Ken Dook what is that all about |

Jason Day may be a very good player but he makes Ken Brown seem like Usain Bolt

![]() think he should be ok now.The Rory love in seems no signs of abating on sky, they never criticise his poor putting. You miss the honestly of BBC golf, sky never say a top player has played a bad shot |

i was lucky enough to play it a couple of times in representative matches so didn't have to pay and it really was a great experience its an issue not reserved to muirfield as alot of clubs in the area still have restrictions based on gender. i played in a works event at gullane a few years ago and we had a female golfer in our team, we won the event and she was told she couldn't attend the presentation as it was being held in a part of the clubhouse that women couldn't enter needless to say we all boycotted the presentation and one of the people running the event had to bring our trophies into the "mixed lounge" |

As for them losing "The Open," I bet many members are quite chuffed about that. It's a week at least's disruption which interferes with their use of the course, which they will consider unwanted as they pay enough for it in their membership fee I feel that about societies, I'd do without them and be prepared to pay an increased membership fee instead. Women often make up just a small section of a club. Active members of clubs will have different views on women members. I've no problem with it, but some will tell you they can bring undue influence on some decisions made, which benefit the women more than the men, when their other halves are on committees. |

Can't believe its 2016 and this is still allowed to happen. Its ridiculous and right they are stripped of being able to host the open.

Was there a ceremony for that? Believe me, they knew it would happen and still voted against allowing women members, because they likely aren't bothered, for the reasons I quoted. |

I fully understand the decision of Muirfield.
Really ? You a member then ??? There's enough golf clubs women can join, so it's just "political." Nothing political about it. You can join or you can't...quite simple really. As for them losing "The Open," I bet many members are quite chuffed about that. It's a week at least's disruption which interferes with their use of the course, which they will consider unwanted as they pay enough for it in their membership fee Well I hope they're chuffed with their increased membership fee now that they can't factor in income from future opens. I feel that about societies, I'd do without them and be prepared to pay an increased membership fee instead. Women often make up just a small section of a club. What are they worried about then? Active members of clubs will have different views on women members. Stating the obvious here?? I've no problem with it, but some will tell you they can bring undue influence on some decisions made, which benefit the women more than the men, when their other halves are on committees. |

Not a good day for Lefty
Phil Mickelson to repay profits after being named in insider trading lawsuit The Securities and Exchange Commission named Phil Mickelson in a federal insider trading lawsuit, alleging in court documents filed on Thursday that the five-time major winner made nearly $1 million via information that was not publicly available. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...suit/84584120/ This bit I found worrying Mickelson owed Walters money from gambling debts |

Aw My Gawd. Smug personified.
But the majority voted FOR. Always makes me wonder about the REAL reasons one would vote against. Apparently a letter was circulated to the effect that allowing female members, would lead to slow play. Now that is a "crime" on a golf course as it holds everyone up. There are days I won't play as it can take well over four hours to get round. No more than three and a half hours is about the average for those who can play. I guess the feeling of some was that including a lot of women would make a round take even longer. Some clubs give women their own day when only they can play. Then they go and arrange competitions with female members of another club and book the course on a different day. A "cake and eat it" situation. There is a "them and us" situation in some clubs. I don't get involved. As Alliss said today, if they want to play regularly, get their male husband/partner to add them as a joint member. Job done. |
