I agree tennis and hold arent olympic sports but fair play to the tennis lot. They see it as a major event and will do anything to compete. Really disappointed in the golfers
But a tennis court is a tennis court the world over. Whereas an olympic golf course won't be an augusta. "Too flat and too easy" was one officials comment on Rio's olympic course. And tennis hasn't had to move one of its four annual majors forward 2 weeks to avoid clashing with the Olympics. So golfs US PGA Championship now commences in 2 weeks time instead of the usual 2nd weekend in August, 4 weeks after the British Open

just as an aside i'm enjoying alot of the graphics SKY are using

the split screens they had yesterday showing the track of the ball both in normal view of the player hitting the shot with a second screen showing it on a graphic of the hole was something i haven't seen before

Yes he doesn't like the rain or wind. Big Phil is on fire.

How injured is poulter to me his injury seemed convenient in with his tumble down the rankings and not being exempt for majors.

I suspect he might have been told he wasn't going to be a Ryder cup pick either

Rain is about to clear. It didn't do much damage to the scores.

Is that code, like when you dont want to call a woman morbidly obese so you call her "bubbly" instead?

He is a big lad but I do think the more characters in the sport the better.

Would like to see henrik Stentson win as he has put a lot into the game without a major.

That's mainly because my bets seems to have bitten the dust of course

This has just turned into survival - cold, heavy rain and strong winds.

I bet the players that finished this morning didn't expect to get such a break but they have and the chasing pack are struggling just to make the cut.

That's what annoys me about sky coverage though, they always make excuses for the top players.

Monty saying Mcilroy can't compete in this , others managed a good round like Stentson in poor weather

They didn't have the wind though this morning, you can't play in this sort of weather.

I was out scoring for NBC yesterday and today. Conditions this morning were so much easier.

I was doing Brandon Stone's group yesterday, he had a strop near the end of his round and literally just threw his ball on the tee at a par 5 and hit driver without even teeing up.

BBC highlights show incorrectly has Zack Johnson banner when interviewing Andrew Johnston. Shocking broadcaster!

Shocking or not, the BBC at least keeps events like the Open as a national sporting occasion. It will decline with live coverage stuck away on Sky as cricket has.
