Yes!!! What's even more impressive is this 3.20 in...
https://youtu.be/EhapOBif2Ek In what must be about 4 inch stilettos!!! That's just insane!!! It's this kind of whacky but brilliant choreography from Gleb that I just love! It's completely bonkers but it looks incredible!!! Thanks for those links Maggie & Josh- I'll look forward to watching properly with sound later when I'm not at work! That move is often done in salsa, so we can't give Gleb credit (or blame) for it. I think all dance choreographers are constantly on the lookout for moves to incorporate--nothing new under the sun. |

and Josh's part two: https://twitter.com/TinaLouiseMiln/s...464?lang=en-gb Gleb's sense of humour ![]() I love when he says "It's a picture of me." Such good humour and comic timing. Mel must've been so pleased when she realized how much comedy she could get from him. When I saw that Miranda Hart had tweeted about Gleb during Strictly I'd begun dreaming of Miranda doing something comedic with him, and then it actually came about with Mel. |

![]() ![]() They are running SCD in S Africa right now and Anita and Gleb are actually the main image. https://www.facebook.com/BBCLifestyl...87906451464675 and the rampant crab from last weekend.......sorry Maggie ....but its so funny where she agrees "good to try it again........down...lovely........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_pMFlYGVjg If you look at this one slowly....he jumps at her for want of a better word and as he steps away he is resting her back on his leg and pushes her upright ...she is so fit. Personally I think they had a real good time perfecting these moves .She is not objecting in any way and its funny to hear them tell Zoe how it came about...."something special for you Anita " http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-...tine-rehearsal |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_pMFlYGVjg Mel with Gleb in the build up to and the aftermath of her rampant crab experience. Fabulous moment. Mel looks gorgeous in her glittery suit and Gleb is having a long, handsome moment.
EDIT: Just seen Josh added the same video!

Can definitely see Anita in the Claudia role & Mel either as Tess or Zoe in Tess' role and Mel for the ITT slot! I always prefer Zoe on there to the two on the main show & wish she'd get promoted- the pair of them do my tree in some times! |

Thank you SO much for that link guys! That was the night I was there so it's a real treat to have that to re-live! I'm definitely one of the cheerers when he does the bum wiggle lol! Great to see the sock debacle again- I'd barely had time to recover from the second rampant crab before that set me off in hysterics again! Oh what a wonderful night it was!

Besides the Mel and Gleb fun, the tour clips gave me a new appreciation of Len. He can be a bit tiresome on the series (all those song puns), but he's actually funny in these clips.

Yes me too .Slightly off topic I know but linked nevertheless.Obviously we know about the history of the USSR/Russia but not the social aspects so a little known fact regarding May 9th 1945 put new light on accepted media perceptions.Millions poured into Red Sq and to the US Embassy nearby on this day. They stood looking up at the US Embassy for hours until they came out.Despite the millions lost and deprivation they came to thank the Americans for standing with them, for the food and the aid.A Russian speaking American then gave a speech and they ran up the red flag on their embassy to acknowledge them for coming. Many such examples where accepted perceptions were debunked regarding relations btw these two people.Must add I find Americans to be innovative, compassionate and braver than what we are led to believe here in this country. You tend to forget the people but remember politics.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R1TppuAd3c (all the nearby streets were filled with people on this day). but I agree we all should separate the notion of the american people and their politicians. Quote:
Where do they normally live if she is promoting only herself in Russia ?
Well, they usually live where they work. Since the work is often in different countries, they are traveling a lot. Last long stop was in Hong Kong (inexpensive housing and warm climate) and their daughter goes to school there. They also often come to Los Angeles. Elena is more often in Russia, she is a judge on DWTS Russia and she made her own show here.

Another amazing clip, without turning this into a Mel appreciation thread, may I comment on how handsome Gleb - the Glebinator - looks when he's worked up a sweat, lucky Mel ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abipwYvOIko And another tooth moment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWQECoqmQto. How lovely is Gleb's matador jacket? Wow! Btw, what is an ultrasound toothbrush? Is this a piece of equipment used in those expensive, private dental clinics? |

Apropos coined terms, I noted Jo Clifton entitled one of her Twitter photos as dancing with the Glebster. That started somewhere on this forum, I forget where. |

He does have a nice pause in between "It's a picture of me .... from my calendar." Good sending up of himself and at the same time marketing his calendar. Maybe he and Elena can buy a holiday home from the calendar proceeds.

I remember someone on the main forum saying that they liked Giovanni because he 'gets Strictly', the implication being that Gleb doesn't. But anyone who saw the tour will know that he does, we just never saw that side to him until then. |

Lana_Del_Rey Should be a part 3 just to see Mel's reaction .Actually, Gleb said it is a picture of me from my calendar. Quote:
Lana_Del_Rey- sounds a bit fantastic for me to be honest. The only thing I found is 'Passage of military equipment in front of the U.S. Embassy (to the Red Square)'
Your link is from 2015.This is a documented history for May 9th 1945.Read it in multiple history books with minute and interesting details .A spontaneous act by Muscovites not the organised parade which came later. Here is a small reference :http://wwii-letters-to-wilma.blogspo...-may-1945.html From The Independent UK, published on 9 May 2005, comes this: In London they danced in the fountains but in Moscow they were too shell-shocked, too exhausted and too battle-weary to manage such high jinks. Up to 30 million soldiers and civilians were dead, the Soviet Union had lost a third of its national wealth, cities such as Stalingrad had been reduced to lunar landscapes, and an entire generation of men had been decimated. That is not to say there was not euphoria though. Searchlights illuminated a city that a few years earlier had almost fallen to the Germans, cannon-fire and fireworks exploded over the Kremlin and relieved citizens crowded into Red Square to share their enormous collective relief. A large and apparently grateful crowd gathered outside the US embassy in Moscow and revelers on Red Square danced, kissed, sung and chatted excitedly. One Soviet captain was overheard saying, "Pora jit" (It's time to liv[/u]e). Surprised me too.We Brits think everybody loves us and then we read otherwise Apparently Stalin and Zukov trusted Eisenhower and Roosevelt but not Churchill and Montgomery .My point is there are whole nations behind the politics and its when they do certain things or you meet them.....you see things differently....apologies everyone......you were talking about Gleb.........? ![]() Quote:

Not sure Giovanni "getting strictly" helped him any way or something to aspire to.There was a lot of media coverage of him and Georgia. They have masses of followers but it translated to nothing really even in her own home town.Personalty and being articulate helps as it did in the case of Anita and Gleb.

Here she goes again.....Mel and the brushing....she says that she is "totally into this and I have scored (with Gleb)..........." 1.50 onwards. She has a way with words where she is hilarious ......others like Bruno are funny but smutty at the same time. |

Maybe next Strictly year Gio will become more talkative, he has a good teacher now with a mancunian accent.Russian DWTS will be soon .....without Gleb I'm sure as rehearsals have already started. His wife probably will be again in the jury.

His wife probably will be again in the jury.Hm, I wonder about Gleb, DWTS in the U.S. hasn't named it's pros yet, there's supposed to be the cast reveal around March 8th and the show starting March 21st. We usually have the pros by now in previous years. I think Elena may be choreographing or maybe that's a different event. |

I'm all for campaigning to have Mel replace Tess but she's got a sense of humour and zaniness like Claudia's and I don't want to lose Claude, not yet. Can imagine Mel interacting with the judges on the floor. You were so lucky to be there that night Joy. Gleb is having a ball and it's great to see him laughing and being carefree.
Quote:
Well there you go....its settled...Mel instead of Tess and Anita or Zoe to replace Claudia. Zoe is another revelation.....not as funny as Mel or as articulate but better than what is there already.

I think Gleb is pretty committed to Strictly now judging from his Twitter. Lots of hints about coming back, but obviously they're not allowed to say yet.
The male pro line up for 2016 will stay the same as last year I think, the only question mark is whether Anton will stick around. Personally I'd like to see him reserved for pro dances and appearnces on ITT like Joanne was, and not see him inflicted on another celeb. I felt his 'journey' to the final last year was his swan song, or supposed to be anyway. Realistically I wonder how much longer he can go on for? |

Sorry Maggie....you posted first ...thank you.Had not seen the end part before. Here are a couple more....presenting the couples and last night of the tour which was when my wife was there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kVz8NeiMa0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0s2bZ_eLhI Quote:
=Joy..... Tess & Claudia just turn up on a Friday & Saturday then job done- they don't have that understanding of what the contestants are going through on a daily basis.
I heard Tess gets an paid astronomical sum ie:£30.000 per show.Len gets £90.000 per series. The pros in the region of $25-30.000 per series .Quote:
Lana_Del_Rey-Maybe next Strictly year Gio will become more talkative, he has a good teacher now with a mancunian accent.
lol......G / G's level of English is about the same. Is Aliona Russian or Kazak ? She has a pronounced accent .My understanding of G/G was that they were both considered goodlooking and although they got to the finals...they didn't do well on the tour.Anita and Gleb were voted off by the judges not the public (Len didn't like Gleb at that point) but they did regret it (see link below) and of course G/A did very well on the tour.Top 2 every time.Personality and partner paid a huge part. The BBC tend to pick people who have middle class accents of undetermined locality.Mel went to Cambridge and Anita could have gone to Oxford but chose Leeds. Anita projects well and she definitely promoted Gleb very positively. He has the talent etc but this was a very good pair. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...ry-Aliona.html Quote:
Lana_Del_Rey-Russian DWTS will be soon .....without Gleb I'm sure as rehearsals have already started. His wife probably will be again in the jury
. He was on Russian DWTS 2015 or 2014 ....any idea why he wouldn't be there now? Quote:
Lana_Del_Rey-Hong Kong (inexpensive housing and warm climate) and their daughter goes to school there. They also often come to Los Angeles. Elena is more often in Russia, she is a judge on DWTS Russia and she made her own show here.
The impression here is that Hong Kong is up there as amongest the top 5 most expensive places/housing in the world ? Does she have a show in addition to DWTS ?

Hi
Only recently discovered this thread and was reading through, agreeing with pretty much all you have been posting. Then I saw a couple of links which I recognised - because they are mine! They are the two Twitter videos of Gleb and Mel on Valentines night, when he gave Mel the roses. Well .... I've finally got round to posting up the full video on Youtube, so would like to share with you all - it will make more sense now! I started filming the now infamous 'crabbing' (very nice rear view version!) and kept on filming because Gleb grabbed the mic and kept on talking! Here it is in full ..... https://youtu.be/gn_Ydrq5xpU I agree with your observations - Gleb was great during this, but his wife was in the audience that evening and I remember he kept glancing over in her direction in a 'Is this OK?' kind of way. I have another clip to share ..... I was very lucky to have great seats for the show, 3 rows from the front in the block right by the Judges, so I clocked a lot! Just as the show was beginning, a dancer came out in front of us and I saw Gleb appear from behind the curtain. Realising he was about to dance right in front of us, I managed to catch him cartwheeling in! https://youtu.be/x6jvxjHjT3U Think you can tell from this clip how great his interaction is with the crowd ![]() Just to add - I'm a massive Strictly fan since Series One, but this was the first live show I went to. Thoroughly enjoyed it and felt so lucky being that close to the action and seeing everyone close up. Absolutely loved Mel, but then I always have. She made me smile sitting on the little chair (that Gleb got the rose from) during each dance, bopping along to the music I'd love her to take over from Tess!! Sorry - I'm not a Tess fan .....Also really enjoyed Helen and Alijaz dances. Helen and Anita were my favourites this past series, was gutted neither made the final. I really hope Gleb comes back to Strictly this year, looking at his tweets - get the feeling he would like to, it does sound hopeful. But I really loved Anita, their partnership worked so well on all levels - I do hope he gets an equally likeable partner next time. Pretty gutted that Gleb is coming back to perform about 30 minutes away from me in a couple of weeks!! Those tickets sold out, but hopefully he will feel the UK love again and be back on Strictly or a UK tour of his own. Hope you enjoy the videos - I was pretty chuffed when Gleb liked and re-tweeted it, so I ended up on his wall!
