I think as well as just the dropping of the pros, there was possibly a concern about his dropping a celeb. Remember when Jade Johnson hurt herself in rehearsals dancing with Ian and had to pull out? That caused a bit of a shit storm because it harmed her athletic career, and she only landed awkwardly doing a rather mundane move.

Obviously this is all speculation at the moment, and I'm just guessing.

Lovely to see Gleb and Elena on This Morning.They looked very happy indeed.
In fact glowing with health and happiness .

Anyway regarding DWTS in the US .....he didn't get very far with his partner and therefore demoted to the troupe and he was in that troupe when those rumours kicked off and Elena was in India.She then left and went to Russia and he went back to Russia as well...end of Oct 2014.Also her birthday is in Oct and Olivia's in November.

No matter what I feel that he was offered a contract but she wasn't.Maybe he tried to speak to them about it and they thought that was being fresh .If he had been fresh during SCD or untoward and I don't think he ever was...but if he had been....they would NOT have asked him back for the SCD TOUR.They could have paired Anita up with anybody or not had Anita at all .Thats why I think the "fresh" story is not true and "backstageone" merely saying it the way she/he wants it rather than what it is.He does seem happy and they seem to have a plan . No way in this world would SCD mind having such a big draw on the show as Gleb.But only one of them on SCD was not going to help his family situation at all.

I personally don't think he was demanding of the wardrobe dept .Only time I heard wardrobe mention him was,they said "Gleb has requested if Anita's dress could be hot pink" How is that demanding??? He has a vision in his head of the dance and trying to make the best of it.

PS...the STRICTLY GIRLS....other dancers are saying that they are sorry Elena is not on the show.Surely they wouldn't say anything if Gleb had been dropped and that is their official twitter .She has retweeted it.

Well, it's all guesswork but he didn't drop Natalie (and quite horribly) until he was already cast in the tour, so that might have been the straw that broke the camel's back (but too late to take him out of the tour and he was a major feature of the previous series.) And I can see them taking someone on tour even though they'd already decided they weren't having him for the next series (Trent went on tour - so did Jared Murillo)

But they didn't demote Gleb back to the troupe in the US 'because' he didn't get too far with his partner - they knew she wouldn't get too far - she was 50-something and terrible and how quickly she was booted was not his fault. They just didn't want him in the main line-up for whatever reason.

I'm not sure I understand your last point - who are the "STRICTLY GIRLS" and would they be sure to know he wasn't dropped? (there may only be a handful of people who actually know for sure - they often let the dancers say they left of their own accord when they were fired - it's just professional courtesy)

Thinking about Gleb's response to the news he is not returning to SCD: It's important to him that he has the best publicity from it because he wants to keep options open in the UK for other projects including the planned show with Elena. He's been very quick to dispel any idea that his marriage is in difficulty or that he has been infected with the Strictly curse!

God, I'd completely forgotten about Jarden Murillo! He was the one who danced with Tina O'Brien wasn't he? I still follow him on Tiwtter actually. I wonder why he didn't return?

Hi all ....would they penalise Gleb for dropping someone.....? Pretty sure he would have been mortified that Natalie was hurt but in real terms Natalie and Oti are big women....as tall as most men and hefty with it.When I saw him dance with those two I didn't like anything about it.

And Lisa was biggish and its like dancing with your mother.How stupid to pair him with her .I have read his US fans saying how they didn't like the way he was treated over there but in essence he has never badmouthed them just like now.So to my mind he has more manners...maybe needs must but still.

If anybody was fresh in the sense of "coming on to someone "...it was the women on the show to Gleb ie....Tess,Claudia etc and even Anita to a degree.

And if we don't place much truck with the STRICTLY GIRLS......I place even less with BACKSTAGEONE.He/she may know the upshot as in Gleb will not be back but may not know who made that decision .If he/she is so IN with the decision making powers that be....................then what is he/she doing gossiping on here and winding us up and as far as I and mine are concerned...we are not watching SCD again.Backstageone can take that away and chew on it.

Hi all! Even if Gleb was let go, he's winning the PR "battle". Many of us have had concerns about his UK management, but here he seems well-advised, what with the Master Chef gig, the interviews, the positive spin, the advertising for the 2017 calendar and a potential tour. I loved his comment that playing the lead in Dirty Dancing would be his dream but his accent makes the lead in Terminator more likely. I'll miss his sense humour as well as his dancing.

Random thoughts on the above discussions:
I wonder if he's hoping to get back on DWTS (since they mentioned LA as a possible home base). I think he left before because he didn't want to be stuck in the troupe. Maybe now that DWTS's resident golden boy has left, there'd be room for him (even though they've built up Val C. as their dreamboat.)

I don't give much credence to the dropping thing or to his having made enemies in the costume department. Dancing is a physical sport in which injuries are frequently sustained. I feel like the "Gleb dropped someone" is more a cudgel used by the ardent non-Gleb fans. As to costuming, the pro's job is to come up with the concept (and negotiate it with producers.) I imagine some pros are easy to manage and others are more adamant, but I'm sure Gleb isn't the only one who pushes hard for his vision.

I think the calendar comments are just PR on his part--he'll probably have a tougher time selling them without the SCD presence, so teasing an even hotter version is a good PR move.

I imagine his leaving is a mix of being let go for pushing demands too far and his legitimate wish to be with his family more (thus the willingness to risk demanding too much.) Based on their TV interview, it seems they're weighing their options and good luck to them in whatever they do. Just a shame it (probably) won't be a Strictly/DWTS, as I think it's the perfect format for his unique charm and skill set.

Hi Maggie.....I think the media surmised about his marriage when he was basically saying " I don't want to be away from my family for 6 months at a time" In real terms he is right.You can read into their social media they wanted her to be taken on as well and if she wasn't....they were living out of a suitcase for 6 months every year but they both did this with a smile and good grace.If that is not good enough......best off out of it.Actually I noticed that he seemed to say,he wanted to go into acting.....and a tour with Elena.He mentioned a tour with Elena before Christmas .Their body language showed they were at one with each other.Looked beautiful .

Elena has been planning that tour since around February/March time. She mentioned it on social media. The plot thickens yet again...

I am sorry but I am so upset about this business of Gleb not being on SCD.If it was his own decision.....I can accept that and the reasons of not wanting to be away from his family for so long.

But if SCD just decided that no we don't want him and/or his wife then I would like to know the reason why.This is the BBC and they are accountable since he was a big reason a lot of people watched it and we pay a lic fee.I was so looking forward to Saturday nights,the ITT etc and when I think that the BBC did it...I am furious . If this latter was the case and Gleb and Elena are obviously looking to make up their income...my heart goes out to them .

Hi Melissa. I'm upset too especially after seeing him on This Morning where I thought most of his words were rehearsed and his jiggling leg suggested he was uncomfortable. backstageone has posted the reason Gleb was allegedly dismissed on the MF and it's ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous.

I've not watched that clip yet, I wonder why he agreed to do the interview if he wasn't comfortable?

Recommended by his management no doubt. Continuing to take control of his departure rather than have SCD spin lies about his marriage.

Looks like Laura Whitmore is a cert, part of me is glad that Gleb won't be on it in that case because I'm certain he'd have been lumbered with her. Obviously trying to do a Caroline Flack by dong Strictly, but she's isn't anywhere near as warm or likable IMO.

The way they behave you would be forgiven in thinking a crime has been committed and in actual fact it bears out roughly what most of us were saying . He was asked but his wife wasn't .That would explain his so called "indecisiveness".Come on.. they know he is popular and coming from abroad.They know his wife is a dancer and how difficult it is to set up shop on £35k in London.Its not worth 6 months of being away from home,family and other work.So he didn't confront them or demand anything.They were waiting to be asked....both of them. x
And if I may.....what about G and G getting it on while getting paid by SCD as in our lic fee.I know its pedantic but if they are so fussed they can address that.They can deny it all they want....it took place in the dance studio of SCD and I take exception to paying for somebody's romance....never mind a calendar.

Its a horror sitting through watching these scruffpots cooking .Honestly I really appreciate my Mom's cooking now and the way she cooks.Honest stick to the ribs cooking so she says....but fresh and very clean and tidy .Washing hands constantly .

Hi Melissa, Ochre and Vodka. The beeb tantalising us with Gleb on MC Clear sign to me he was supposed to return to SCD. In spite of what backstageone writes I think they wanted him back but whatever the wrangle was about, the beeb asserted their authority and said no. I hope Gleb does not get booted first in his MC heats.

I think from memory, the pro's are now being contracted for two series at a time. So I wonder if that's where the indecisiveness that backstageone came from? No one know what their life is going to be like in two yesrs time, especially whenyou have a child to think of.

I have to say I was interested to read that Gleb is a long time friend of the Jordan's and of course Kristina. We all know how those three fell out of favour with the producers some time ago
