Coming back to Gleb......notice he has gone on a long haul flight a few days ago but he hasn't said where and hasn't shown anything about arriving or meeting anybody or dancing anywhere...............so me thinks he is in the US and maybe something to do with DWTS....????

Hi Melissa. It's quiet in here ... I notice that Gleb and Elena are putting on a show in Sydney in October. Perhaps this will be a trial for further shows, such as a UK one or two as promised on their social media.

I've been a bit naughty and tweeted the BBC SCD a few times to say that none of the new dancers compensate for the loss of Gleb!

Looks like he left SCD and is busy with his 2017 calendar.

My Mom has rung the BBC to complain that she feels they didn't do enough to keep Gleb on SCD and we will not be watching. You can email them as well and apparently they forward the email to the dept within 24 hours.

Go on the BBC website if anybody wants to do that and find CONTACT.

I didn't care for that photo of Gleb either. It's tacky and I'm sad that he has chosen to pose like this. He's far too talented for such tat!

Looks like Gleb is joing DWTS, his most recent tweet pretty much confirms it.

I think this is probably what the wrangle backstageone mentioned was about. They asked him back, he said he'd come back but only if DWTS didn't want him and they told him where to go (which they were perfecfly within their rights to do).

I think this was probably the intention all along. Strictly was an audition to get back onto DWTS, which is fair enough but I'd rather he'd just have admitted in the beginning like Artem did instead of saying it was for family reasons. Elena and Olivia are still in Australia! Either way it's disapointing, Strictly is 100 times better than DWTS.

But not if you need money and/or want a green card/citizenship.

I agree, gaining U.S. citizenship seems to be every russian dancer's dream and I don't blame them. Gleb said he was leaving for family reasons and according to the MF, his family is joining him, ABC is taking care of accommodation and schooling for Olivia, not to mention an increase in salary and two seasons per year. He wasn't saying anything untrue and this move would bring him stability, a no brainer really. Good luck to him and I'll be able to watch him on DWTS live!! (If it's true, of course. ) Still love Strictly though!

US citizenship seems to be a dream of many people worldwide. That deal sounds fantastic and I understand completely why he and Elena wanted the DWTS slot. I'll miss him and will watch the vids on YT but I'll miss his cheeky personality and wry sense of humour

Elena seems to have a show scheduled in Sydney on the 20th October. Gleb was supposed to be on it with her, actually there's no reason why he still couldn't I suppose as DWTS airs during the week and the show is on a Saturday night. But I can't see her moving out to LA until that's out of the way.

Interestingly if you watch the YouTube clip she uploaded, you'll se a routine that is pretty much a carbon copy of Gleb and Anita's Jive to the boy does nothing.

Must say I don't blame him one bit.It was always obvious that he liked America and wanted to be there.He looks happy too.Genuine smiles rather than polite smiles.

I have noticed a lot of bitter comments from people on his facebook like...."what happened to spending time with family...."........."thought you wanted to stay home in HK/Oz...." and traitor...........lol

They seem to forget that DWTS say they gave him a good offer and took into consideration his wife and daughter and wanting to be in the same place.That equates to me....."spending time with family " and we all need to work even Gleb .I am pleased for him and his family.He just needs to ditch BOLD as has been said already. They really are the pits.He is far too talented to have to do such rubbish.

There were similar comments on Instagram Melissa, first time I've ever seen negative comments under one of Gleb's photos.

The way I see it is I think he saw Strictly as an audition to get back onto DWTS, fair enough but I have a nagging feeling it could well come back and bite him on the bum. They rotate their pro's a lot, there is a much higher turnover of them and there is also a pecking order that doesn't exist on Strictly, Gleb will be right at the bottom of that pecking order as a returnee.

It really is lame. I've said on the main forum. It's garish, tacky and the dancing is of nowhere near of the same standard we see on Strictly. I suspect what they really want is US citizenship, and this is probably the best way for them to get it.

I haven't seen DWTS myself but will need to find a way .Its swings and roundabouts really...SCD could have/should have given him a better deal so he could bring his wife and child over like DWTS have done .It was obvious that she wanted to be on SCD with him so with two lots of £35k.... reasonable to live on in London for the year or a better deal for him alone.He was a big draw no question.

Not sure about the US citizenship either .He has lived in the US for a long time previously.He went to New York when he was extremely young so he would qualify by now.Personally I think they like America as a family and long term.Russians generally do.The biggest movers and shakers are there leaving aside DWTS .

As an aside.....we say America has no culture but they lead and influence the world be it food,music,clothes,film,language,business,education,buildings etc etc

My Dad says that all the most daring and innovative people made there way there.....................altho they obviously have their riff-raff too but overwhelmingly they are of the former variety .

Also not sure he has burnt his bridges with SCD going on what has been said.

ps.....I don't know why some fans can't understand......he said he wanted to be with his family and that last year his wife was having to fly back and forth.Lets face it....that £35 k has to last him a year unless he can supplement it somehow and they can't move here on the basis of 35k. DWTS has factored in all of his concerns where SCD did not.

Hi Melissa and Vodka. It's interesting that Gleb is seeking to appease his UK fans on social media. Suggests he underestimated how much he was liked in the UK and that he has not finished with the UK yet, which is the positive.

I feel divided because I understand his and Elena's decision; he didn't leave the USA easily, it was the crisis in his marriage that ruptured his career, their career plans, at that point. So returning there is not a surprise. And I can see that for him and the BBC to say he's 'left' for family saves face for both. But I do feel a little betrayed ...

It's interesting that most of his Twitter interactions are still with UK fans and celebrities. Obviously DWTS hasn't started yet, it starts a week after Strictly, but it's big the big deal in the US that Strictly is in the UK. I think it was always the intention to go back to the U.S, but Gleb didn't realkaw how well people in the UK would warm to him, I actually think his sense of humour is much more suited to Brits than Americans as well.

I wonder if maybe he'd returb to Strictly for a Christmas special like Ian and Robin do?

I agree about his sense of humour. That was one of the things I most liked about him, his soh and how he got British humour. I think Gleb's a clever man beneath those gorgeous looks! I really don't care for the Christmas specials and rarely watch them but were he to feature in one then I might reconsider ...

Hiya Maggie and VD....aww....cheer up.....we will be updated somehow and there has to be a way to see DWTS . We feel more betrayed by SCD/BBC .They have ignored his popularity now like they did last year because lets face it he was treated pretty shabbily.

Somebody on his FB said what I feel to be true.....his wife was not offered anything by SCD despite her best efforts . £35.000 seems a lot but I wouldn't move to Oz on the basis of it.....its not enough to take me away from my family............but if me and my mom were each offered £35k.......then yes we would and Dad would tag along too.Then its worth moving . Oz is expensive,LA is expensive but London is one of the most expensive cities in the world unless you want to live in a dive and even that will be expensive......so I do understand.He had no option .

So DWTS offered a better deal according to their statement...they made provision for his wife and daughters schooling as well so now she is putting their house up for rent in Oz . I think they were happy and at home in LA and only reason he left was that business with Izabel Miko altho I must say you can construe more from how he and Anita were really........but obviously that was just innocent joking around.

Oh you can watch DWTS in the UK with a dodgy box or Amazon fire stick But of course the routines will be uploaded to Youtube as well.

Apparently Derek Hough is back on DWTS, so that pushes Gleb and Artem further down the pecking list. Be thankful that we have some fairness on our Strictly. Kevin has just been ridiculously lucky due to his height.

So much happening in the last few weeks …. I was actually really happy for Gleb that he got back on DWTS, and they seemed to be giving him a promotional push, too (even though he really didn’t make much of a mark on his last stint there). I agree with you, Vodka, that DWTS was always his goal.

However, having now caught up on DWTS news, I’m feeling a bit bad for him. At first it seemed he was going to be able to fill a gap, but in the meantime fan favourites Derek Hough and Maks C. have been confirmed as returning (after seeming to have retired from the show), so Gleb’s going to have a lot of competition and might well get lost in the shuffle with them and the other two favorite male pros (Mark Ballas and Val C.) Those four will probably get the best female contestants and Gleb may be stuck with a dud.

It’s a shame some of his fans feel betrayed by his move or deceived by the “family commitments” statement. For whatever reason (work, visa, or just personal preference?) Elena and Olivia weren’t moving to the UK and they are moving to LA, so that all jibes.

I concur with all the comments about DWTS—SCD is far superior. But I’ll watch it this time around to see how Gleb gets on—I imagine there’ll be some recycling of routines that went well with Anita, but that’s par for the course in show business and it will be new to the American audience, most of whom have probably never heard of SCD.
