Here he is dancing with his former (?) dance partner at bachata, which is his dance apparently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-2gz3zI-ug. Enjoy.

Agree with all those preferring a scruffy, messed up Gleb. Ah, training room Gleb ....

Also agree with Pretzel that Gorka, charming though he is, doesn't have Gleb's sex appeal.

And funny how most of us seem to agree about Danny M. I do think he's very pretty, but something's missing ....

Wonder what you all make of this (and please take into account that it was cirque du soleil night and the star pros put on production numbers that bore no resemblance to ballroom):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KPeE8VzB78

Also, Gleb's going to be on the DWTS winter tour (Artem too):

BIB: Give Gorka time ... I'm not suggesting he will have Gleb's sex appeal just that he has sex appeal.

Anyhoo, Jana's foxtrot was a really nice dance. Think that's my favourite of theirs thus far. (I might have liked the jive had it been longer than 31 seconds!) I think Jana's a lovely dancer and she seems to be getting along well with Gleb - and Elena. Gleb has played clever with the choreography because an FT can be underwhelming and in a theme week you need to do things that will make it memorable, even if the choreography is unorthodox.

They seem to be scoring well with the judges. What do you think of her chance for reaching the final chou?

Good news about Gleb for the DWTS tour. He seems to be doing nicely and I'm very pleased for him and his family.

I rather doubt they'll reach the final. The consensus on the US interwebs seems to be that they're boring, forgettable middles. (Though there is a lot of enthusiasm about Gleb.)

Also, the producers aren't pushing them. This was indeed a lovely dance (I think it would've been a Len favourite, but he's taking it easy and staying in England a few weeks), but it wasn't memorable because, as mentioned before, a lot of the other routines were overblown productions. They were in jeopardy this week, which is sometimes just a dramatic device and sometimes a real indicator that a couple is not getting the votes.

Re Gorka, I do like him--he's a great addition to Strictly, both personality and dance-wise. I'd already watched the bachata video, and he's great in it. I think for me he's just more the fun, cute type that would be fun to hang out with. Whereas I'd like to be doing the bachata with Gleb

Well now that was a pleasant surprise, I seem to have got to the end without once noticing his partner. Dare I say, better hips than our man?

I'm sensing sweet though rather than rip your clothes off arrogance, still give him time...

He's only 26. Give him another 5 years or so ...

Here's him doing a cha cha cha with Irene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epFsjyAIoRY Love his lightness and lithe movements. Can't wait to see him and Tameka strutting their stuff in the fast latins, of which they have done none yet. I think Gleb has more passion (hence the rip your shirt off) and he knows how to work a camera. He's also markedly beautiful. But Gorka has latin moves. I'll need to keep my Gorka in check on the GLEB appreciation thread!

In another world, Gleb and Jana were voted through on DWTS so they survive another week Wish he was on SCD still then I'd have him and Gorka to gawp at. I know most didn't want Gleb paired with Laura but seeing her now I think she would have been a good partner for him. I'd have preferred her as his partner than Daisy, for example.

I like Gorka but he's really short. There is a photo of him out there somewhere, standing in between Alijaz and Giovanni and they both tower over him.

No disrespect but DWTS sounds really shit these days. 'In jeopardy'? What the hell do they tell you that for? Even the tour sounds lame! Don't the celebs take part?

BTW is Jana even that famous in America? I know she's a country singer, but I'd never heard of her before. That's possibly why they're not pulling in the votes.

Yeah, Gorka is short.

Please do disrespect DWTS, it is crap. I guess "in jeopardy" would be akin to the dance-off bottom 2 on SCD, but without the dance-off and with room for reality show shenanigans--they put 3 couples in jeopardy, but only one of those couple actually has the fewest votes and gets booted.

The tour does look very different to the Strictly tour. It goes through my hometown and I was thinking of getting my mom tickets for it for Christmas, but her favourite part of DWTS is (inexplicably) the judges' comments, and no, they don't take part. I think it's a dance extravaganza rather than a live version of the show (no celebs either).

I'd never heard of Jana either, but apparently she's well-known to country music fans.

Here's a pro number from last night's DWTS results show, featuring their hottie pros (all of whom, it must be said, are probably better dancers than our Glebster):

I did used to enjoy DWTS when they used to show it on the UK TV years ago, the spring series. used to fill the long gap between series of Strictly nicely. I knew it had changed, but didn't realise how much until Id started watching Gleb's routines. It's unregonisable from the original format, and so many theme weeks and other weird stuff like partner swap week, immunity week etc.Its such a shame.

That's true about Gleb but he is beautiful and naughty. I thought Maks made some pretty nifty moves there.

Ah, I love Maks- and this reminded me- I also miss Artem as well as Gleb, heck even Robin Windsor, double heck even James looked manly on the dance floor.

Now though, I don't know what is is about the current crop on Strictly, but watching this makes our motley crew of male dancers look like a cute boy band troup accompanied by a couple of kindly uncles.

Summed it up nicely there !
Gave it a shot and totally felt nothing.....oh sorry I did....felt I was missing the sparkle of last year .Gorka is nice but nice in the sense....your kid brother nice . And over in the US......like watching Gleb but don't really feel that same intensity Gleb/Jana as with Gleb/Anita or indeed as with Gleb/Adelina . I wish it was One More Dance with him and Anita actually rather than Kristina.Or one with Kristina,Anita and Adelina. x

OMG people, I had a Gleb dream last night!

He was a bullying horror but the 'dancing' was out of this world

It looks like Gleb has been travelling all over the place with Jana as she has been touring since the start of DWTS. That must make it very difficult to practice. She seems to have cancelled some concerts because of DWTS so maybe they will be able to step it up a bit and get out of the middle. They haven't had any latin dances yet so I'm hoping Gleb will make a big impression there. I watched some of the dances on youtube and I thought the jazz dance by Laurie and Val was very simple with not much dance content. It got 10s from all the judges. It reminded me of the dance last season by Anton and Katie where he danced around her and she did very little but looked good. Can't remember what it was but definitely a latin dance. He was blasted by the judges for not giving her enough to do. All Laurie seemed to do was walk and pose then walk and sit on a bench while Val did the Michael Jackson moves.

I have Gleb dreams fairly often, unfortunately they're really mundane and not the kind of dream Id prefer

I'll have a word with him next time and tell him to up his game, so to speak

Gorka looks like a gawky teen from an American High School, even dressed up in that police uniform, what a waste. Moves like a cat though so there's that, who watched this crap for the dancing though?!

Did his bullying consist of him yelling at you "Again!" and "Make it pretty, not ugly!" ?

I'd add his high-ish, somewhat lilting voice as contributing to the gawky teen impression.

He is a lovely dancer. I think these competition-level dancers must tend to be whippet-thin (see also Aljaz). But for these shows, I prefer the tall, more filled out guys like Glebby and Maks C of DWTS.

I agree about Gorka and a few of the others, they don't seem as, I don't want to say manly, but as..... mature as the likes of Maks, Tristan and Gleb.

I missed last night and catching up I heard that Gorka had delighted a few fans with his Police costume. So I took a look, and yes he looks nice enough, (but weirdly I still can't unsee the young Anton)

.........and he sure ain't no prison guard.

Strictly definitely needs more slightly older, taller, um... bigger male dancers.

I agree totally. Gorka is a good dancer but I saw him in the costume last night and compared him to Gleb's prison officer costume. Not even close. I am not tempted to vote for any of the couples and last year I was voting online and by text.
I'm finding it hard to get into DWTS as we can't watch the whole show and get the judges comments and marks. I watch Gleb's dances and a few of the others and the training videos but it's quite bitty. The training videos and QA video are funny though. His playful side comes out.

I kind of see a young Tony Beke too now you mention it, did you have to mention it? Thankfully you redeemed yourself immediately with Prison Officer Gleb, the memories I have of him grasping that great big truncheon....no wonder this year is such a damp squib.

Claudia and AJ, who??? I had to take to google for the first time ever, sad times. Not feeling a connection to any couple thus far and there are so many new pros that it didn't even have that lovely cosy familiar feeling.

I'll give it another go next week hopefully I'll feel a spark, it would be really weird to have a Strictly free autumn.

Hahaha it's quite arousing if you read it in his voice He said the dress I was in made me look fat, the swine!

You're onto something there with the different dancer physiques; those boneless, snake hipped bodies might look sublime on the dancefloor but it's hard to muster much lust . Gleb, Maks, Artem et al are built more like sportsmen than sylphs, giving them a much higher 'GRRR' factor.

I think that it's the rather strong jaw, the comedian/writer/actor Rob Bryden has the same look to him as well. As others have said Gorka has some fiiiine moves, indeed I think that he's a better dancer than Gleb in some ways so I was sorry to see him and Tameka go. It just wasn't her dance- I think that she was injured and TBF Gorka danced around her beautifully but with the air of a man trying to move a slightly awkward parcel.

I'm still not watching with any great enthusiasm, like you say the Grrrr factor is missing. Although I did have very slight stirrings during the Dannybots Paso. I suspect that's because his face was covered. It's not an unpleasant or unattractive face but it just doesn't do it for me.

Hhaha at the truncheon bit. I watched that again the other night and virtually all day at work I was singing 'He had it coming' the next day. Gawd I miss Anita and Gleb, although Lesly and Ed make me smile I don't really love any of the celebs this year and with no male dancers to admire it's really slim pickings,

Jana and Gleb danced a contemporary number last night on DWTS. Gleb's choreography at it's best! Very emotional and flowing. A comment was made that they have climbed up from the middle of the pack. I think that might have been the kind of thing we would have seen from the show dance if Anita and Gleb had been allowed to do it. That still rankles with me after nearly a year!
