So DWTS is far more manipulated than Strictly then? I really don't like the three way dances at all. The couples build up a strong partnership over the course of a series, sl sticking a third wheel in seems an odd thing to do to me. They've also done partner swap weeks in the past. Much better to do a group dance altogether, Strictly used to do a lot of those in years gone by but don't seem to bother any more

Jana has put on her twitter page that Gleb has the flu and she is practising with Alan again. Hope he is well enough to perform. All that travelling around the states with Jana on tour and trying to fit in practices has taken it's toll I think. Poor Gleb. I have my fingers crossed.

It depends on whether or not he has proper flu or man flu (otherwise known as a bad cold). If it's the former he's stuffed as he physically won't be able to dance. But if it's just a cold I'm sure with a bit of paracetemol he'll be fine.

Going by his social media, Gleb seems to be dancing in the final tonight.

I'd been wondering how he manages to do it all--the constant traveling, doing the show with Jana, rehearsing for his London show. He stumbled a bit on last week's DWTS (perhaps due to his bad knee) and now sitting out with the flu (or man flu).

The freestyle was amazing and I felt so sorry for Gleb when he stumbled. He didn't look or sound at all well and seemed very emotional in the interview. Gleb you have made your mark on DWTS which was your aim. Elena said on twitter yesterday that they are planning a tour next year so fingers crossed that comes off and more of us can go and see him dance. There is just something about Gleb that makes him stand out from the rest, such charisma.

Yes there is and I've really missed that charisma on Strictly this year. It's not just Glebs absence TBH there is something not clicking for me with Strictly this year but yeah I miss Gleb a lot.

Anyway I found out about Gleb and Janas fate on DWTS by this video being recommended in my youtube channel, because I can't seem to work out an easy way to catch DWTS. Is it just me that has these issues? In this day and age of global connections I still fell like I need a degree in telecommunications to work out how to watch full shows of DWTS (and my other guilty pleasure WWE). Anyway, I'm thick and can't do it, so snippets on youtube it is..

Damn I hope they get a better cast of pros (and celebs) on Strictly next year 'cos I miss Gleb, there's no credible replacement (and I reckon Giovanni may be off too by then) and I want a show I can really get into on my TV next year.

Thanks for the link. Full of the cold and husky Gleb is as delicious as sweaty Gleb! Glad they made the finals. Can't believe Jana was not dance trained. She was amazing. Watched their show dance on YT. Interesting choreography. Gleb likes contemporary dance.

I've enjoyed SCD this year even missing Gleb. I agree he has charisma in bags, which along with his humour and looks makes him beautiful. Gorka doesn't have charisma and is short, but I like him a lot and hope we see him much more next year. Giovanni is a bit yuck to me. I've been following two couples throughout and they have made this series for me.

That was a good video! Very nice seeing Gleb in profile. I'm weird about noses, and he has a fine one.

Agree a bit about SCD this year--it's definitely missing the charisma that Gleb brought. I'm enjoying Rinder and Oksana, but if they go it will all get a bit dull.

If you'd like to know how to watch whole shows, I could PM you how to do it. It's not very complicated. To be honest, you haven't missed much by not seeing whole episodes of DWTS. The last few weeks I've just let it play in the background--it's so full of nonsense and the celebs' personal lives are constantly mined for dance and VT fodder.

Did you see the post dance interview where Gleb almost started crying? He was upset that he'd stumbled in their show dance. It was quite charming, as it seemed like a moment of real emotion.

I have watched some of SCD this year but haven't voted at all. I don't feel drawn in by any of the pros or their partners. Last year I was voting like crazy for Gleb and Anita. As I said before Gleb has charisma, charm and his choreography is different from the usual. I love contemporary dance and their last one on DWTS was lovely even with the stumble and they didn't use a whole troop of dancers. I would also love to have the show on my TV screen as the You Tube videos sometimes have no sound. Still better that than no Gleb!

Hi Chou. I don't think I've seen that one. Gleb almost crying . I'll console him. Or as my niece approaching a large ginger Tom said, I'll stroke him ..!

Just a few small, final bits of Gleb on DWTS ....

shirtless in a crowd of shirtless male dancers:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwXQVTWdJuA

set the speed to .25 and fast forward to 1:09, if you want to see Gleb with his trousers down:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi0P6wMypwc

I didn't mention it on the "Why is the board so meh this year" thread downstairs, but I think partly it's due to Gleb and Anita's absence. Many loved them and their success motivated many to post their hate for Gleb's flashy choreography and Anita's not having the feet of a prima ballerina.

Yes! Well there's a lot wrong with this year (apart from ratings to be fair) but for me it doesn't have the it factor or the personalities in the pros or the celebs that made last year and of course Gleb and Anita were a huge part of that.

There's much (well a trickle of-not so many posters this year either) debate downstairs about dance technique and accuarncy and I think that this is where someone like Gleb and by extension Anita really divides opinion. Because I remember posting earlier that I know that Anitas paso steps weren't brilliant, and I'll even concede that the mighty Gleb wasn't isn't perhaps the greatest technical dancer ...but I will still watch the sh*t out of a routine like that gloriously, ridiculously camp Paso and choose it over a technically correct well danced well choreographed yet somehow less exciting other dance.

A dance is more than the sum of it's parts- and yes I am thinking of THAT samba -which was great-but I'd still choose the paso.

Gawd I wish he were still here-not least because runaway fave Danny could benefit from a rival in the hottie stakes to make the show less predictable as well.

I agree. I'd add that both the glorious camp paso and Danny's samba had great music--who wouldn't get the kitschy feels to that paso Malguena, and who wouldn't want to get up and dance to that samba track?

Not sure that Danny would benefit from Gleb's presence in the hottie stakes, as he'd only come up to about Gleb's chin

Funny you should say that chou cos much as I admired him and that samba I couldn't help being ever so slightly distracted by his massive cuban heels. And once you've clocked them, you can't NOT see them,

But no, mustn't be unkind, it was a great dance and he's an attractive man. He's no Gleb, and I don't fancy him meself but I can appreciate that he's handsome.

So to stay OT and because I'm feeling nostalgic and it's my Mums favourite todays look back for the Glebsters is the non-technically perfect but utterly gorgeous (and tall) Gleb giving us his best Erroll Flynn impression dancing the foxtrot with the lovely Anita.

Aw, I can't really enjoy that one because it was the night they got voted out. I couldn't enjoy it on the night either as I was so nervous for them. But I do remember how gorgeous he looked.

Gleb's West End show is coming up soon, so hopefully he'll make a few appearances in the UK to drum up ticket sales just before. Or at least take off his shirt in a shop window while the paparazzi his PR called snaps some pics

Lovely to revisit that foxtrot, thanks Pretzel. Gleb looks so dashing. That was a very uplifting routine. I wish they had revived it in the DO.

I see the show with Kristina went well yesterday. Though why the hell they chose to allow Megan McKenna to sing is anyone's guess? Bold management strike again?

Yeah I thought that. I can't bear her in anything that I've seen her in, but maybe she's a great performer so whadda I know? Anyway, hope the show's a success.

On another note I am quite looking forward to these forum changes- it will be especially good to have embedded links so we won't have to go to another page to see lovely pics and dances etc. Plus I can use my fave gifs wisely.

Megan McKenna seems to be a friend of Gleb's - he wished her good luck when she entered the CBB house - and presumably she knows Kristina since her CBB stint.
