I read Anita invited them all to Sunday dinner .Lets not forget that the wife is beautiful....she is a mother and a pro dancer herself and why wouldn't she want to be with her husband.SCD takes 3/4 months....that is a long time to be apart.The whole of the Clifton clan is on SCD....so why not these two.

Yes, I remember reading that. Happened right at the start. I was only joking about her keeping an eye on him by the way, I think she saw all the fun he had on Strictly and wants some of it for herself. She's a very good dancer and is tall, the show is pretty short on taller females, there's only really Natalie and there are rumours she might not be returning as well.

A good dancer should not only demonstrate the technique of movements, but also emotions specific to each dance so that the audience believe the story. Gleb can be funny (Jive, Charleston), passionate (Paso), romantic (A.S.) and he looks very natural everywhere. He has a great talent to transformation. (as well as Anita)
He's not playing with emotions, he treats her as a good friend.
This is just my opinion, you can have another, I don't mind.

Female dancers always have amazing bodies, slim but well toned and healthy looking, I've spent the last few months green with envy over Aliona's stomach muscles, and who could forget Flavia's six pack. Makes me wish I'd stuck with those dancing classes my mum used to send me to!

Hi everyone

Just popping in with my report from the tour last night.

Wow! What can I say? Gleb is even more beautiful to look at and watch in the flesh than on telly! Such amazing presence when out there performing. I admit to being rather biased but I couldn't take my eyes off him whenever he was out on the floor. I must have trained my eyes well because I seemed to be able to pick him out instantly even when they were all doing the big group numbers. I must say I really enjoyed the focus they appeared to give him in the group routines- largely being up front and centre or being involved in a lift of some sort!

Anyway back to the show... Well our seats in Block 111 were up near the judges and an ideal spot for all the action. Gleb & Anita were second to last to perform (Jay & Aliona being last- Winner's privelege I presume!) so by the time they came on my anticipation & excitement levels were at a peak given that they were the only couple who had drawn me enough to buy tickets!

The Paso Doble was up first. I loved it on Blackpool week & I loved it even more live! So intense & dramatic & definitely one of the best received dances of the night. It scored 29 out of 30 from the judges (9 from Craig & 10 from Len & Bruno). It was lovely to see the affection between Gleb & Anita & they are such a great partnership. I'm actually really going to miss seeing Gleb dancing with her next year if he is back! There was some hilarious banter with Mel after this where she started asking Gleb about his teeth brushing habits!

The American Smooth in part 2 also went down a storm and scored a perfect 30 from the judges giving them a total of 59 & placing them joint top of the leaderboard with Helen & Aljaz and Jay & Aliona. Of course Mel had to ask Gleb to demonstrate the rampant crab (or 'Gleb Special' as I like to call it!) again with her afterwards! "He's telling me to engage my core!" She announced to us all as he straddled her! She is one lucky lady!

Anyway voting was cast and Gleb & Anita came runners up in spite of my several votes! I think there were a lot of people in the audience who had just come to see Jay's jive as many of the people around us left immediately they had finished that dance & didn't even stay for the results.

At the end they were all walking round waving bye to the audience Gleb was the last to leave the floor & spent ages shaking people's hands & posing for selfies- at one point he even tried to leap over the barrier! He spent so long out there on the floor he literally had to run off to backstage just as the curtains came down or he'd have been out there all night bless him! Sadly my seats weren't near enough to get that close!

All in all a wonderful night which was topped off by the man himself retweeting one of my photos I took and sent to him so if anyone is interested it is there on his Twitter!

Thanks for that Joy. We had some very odd women in front of us in Manchester who gave Jay's jive a standing, now as much as I loved it when they first did it I don't think it deserved a standing ovation in the arena. Just my opinion though. As a I recall these women didn't laugh at any of Mel's gags etc either, so not really there for the fun of it if you get me. The sort of miseries you get on the main forum who take it all so seriously

They didn't actually demonstrate the rampant crab in Manchester. Mel asked for a private masterclass on the bus afterwards, I think they made little tweaks to the show over the course of tour, so it wasn't completley the same everywhere.

I think Gleb has a very good sense of humour actually, and you could see him trying not laugh at some of the things Mel said. I hope we see more of that side of him in the future,

Yeah he is actually very funny- one of the things that attracted me to him in the first place. I think people assume he's just this stern Russian but he's actually got a very witty & quick sense of humour. A lot of the time he was just humouring Mel & going along with what she said. Their conversation about teeth brushing had me in hysterics- she started asking him if he used floss and when he said he did she then probed further asking if it was string or tape! (I was laughing too much to remember his answer). You could tell Gleb was slightly bemused but just laughing & going along with it- he's such a good sport at how he handles people fawning over him! Definitely hope his humour is a side they show of him more next year. Of course he is beautiful but I'm sure he'd far rather be recognised for his talents as a dancer/ choreographer- the likes of which we've rarely seen on Strictly before IMO instead.

I agree about his sense of humour. It's what won me over and he seems reasonably intelligent too. His command of English is very good. That segment of Mel and him trying the rampant crab sounds hilarious.

Yep, the producers definitely showcased Gleb and Anita—it was clear that they were the most popular after St. Jay, and that the paso and AS were great numbers for an arena show.

Many of us Gleb fans have been banging on about his sense of humor so I'm glad that the wider public got to see it. The Mel-Gleb bits are hilarious (a lot are on youtube) and that’s down to Gleb being able to play the straight man. I’m also amazed that he can do it all in a second language. It’s one thing to get along in a foreign country, it’s another to keep up your side of a comedy bit in a huge arena.

It all bodes well for Gleb’s future on Strictly (though I’m one who will miss Anita a lot).

At the start of the Manchester show I saw, Craig made a point of saying that Anita and Gleb should have been in the final and he reminded us how he'd been the only judge to vote them through. I think they know the final was poorer for it, after all it is an entertainment show when all is said and done and I definitely missed their showdance which I'm sure would have been a show stopper.

Absolutely! I definitely think we missed out not seeing their showdance. I genuinely think the final was far poorer for their absence. I really did feel gutted for them both. As much as I love Gleb I have really enjoyed watching him & Anita together and am very fond of them as a partnership. I only hope they give him a partner in the same vein as Anita next year so we can see more of the same from Gleb in him getting the best out of his partner and giving us fun, exciting and innovative routines. I'd genuinely hate for him to get a duffer and be voted out early and then resigned to pro dances for the rest of the series with little chance of the tour after. This is all assuming he is invited back of course but with the impression he's made I think they'd be crazy not to!

Thank you for the report btw although my wife went yesterday evening . As a matter of interest she noticed his wife sitting quite near to her and the stage.I totally agree with the sentiment expressed here .He is extremely talented but Anita was able to showcase them with him to a wider audience .Obviously he is the perfect dancer and she might not be..............but as I said before two too perfect dancers can leave you cold and mismatched ones.These two were wellmatched so she will be missed . He will go far because his choreography tells a story and with some panche .

Of 30 shows they won 6 outright and runners up on all the rest bar one where Anita had to host the show.

After such a successful season I see already a long queue of celebs dreaming to dance with Gleb. Producers are not fools and he has a good chance to get a ringer in the next series of SCD (if he come back) which automatically guarantees him a place on the tour.

By the way do you hear the accent when he speaks English? It is interesting to know from the point of view of British and American hearing.

Yes, you can hear the accent, but it's not terribly strong. I work with Russians who have a much more pronounced accent when they speak English..

Sometimes I found the partnership between Anita and Gleb neutral and almost indifferent. By the end and with reports of them from the tour, it's clear their partnership was not neutral at all. BUT Anita was such a good partner for him in terms of allowing him to choreograph dynamic routines, being a great sport and brave as well! I believe Gleb will return to SCD next year if he wants to do so. I feel some trepidation as to what sort of celeb he could be partnered with next year ...
