It's good to see him getting that sort of gig (I assume he'll be dancing with his wife?)

Puckle_Fish: Lovely post! I adore Anita and love hearing from others who'll miss her with Gleb.

Agree with your points about the Anita-Gleb interaction. I loved their goodbye dance (though I didn't watch it until much later because I was gutted by having read the spoiler about their losing the DO.)

Thanks for linking those Strictly backstage Instagram clips--I'd only seen the sweat one. I love this ITT clip, when they play the "recognize the dance" game (from about 5:00) it looks like they're having so much fun together:

MaggieMcGee, your description of 2014 makes me think I should watch it. Artem with a ringer sounds good, and I do like Iveta. The Aljaz-Abbey pairing had also been putting me off--seems too obvious to pair two young, beautiful people.

(On the other hand, I just read that Nastassja Kinski is going to do the German Strictly starting in March and I may have to watch that just for her.)”

Wowee! I love Nastassja - massive girl crush, How do you watch this from the UK? I want someone of her stature on SCD.

I know a few on here picked up on how physically affectionate they were with each other and agree with everything said. I picked up on the fact that he was much more touchy-feely with her than any of the other male pros were with their partners, and vice versa, from the off (can't imagine Aljaz carrying Helen over and kissing her on the head/Kellie holding on to Kevin's hands the way Anita did)

Everybody I was watching with on Movie Week picked up on their behaviour after they finished their Ghost American Smooth. Gleb was very, er, stroky especially 4:02 onwards. Felt a bit intrusive watching! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBaZCZlvGoM

That's not to say I think anything illicit happened, whatsoever. Think he just had a lot of affection and pride in his fearless partner and that was a way of expressing it and vice versa on her part.

I also loved their unabashed flirtation at the end of the American Smooth. Both grinning from ear to ear, loving every last second.

He was (verbally) quieter at the start (on the live shows) - I get the sense that he was a bit shier in public situations and is the type to convey affection and pride through that kind of thing ^^ rather than long speeches, but by the end he didn't stop vocalising his admiration either.

I was gutted when they were eliminated. When they were calling people into the dance off, the minute they were down to the final three, and there was a big chance they'd be in the dance off, he took very good care of her. He moves her in front of him so he can put his arms around her and whispers something to her. Little things like that are a good indicator of character, I think.

Their clip in the 'goodbye Anita' video still makes me sad. It's extra poignant because, despite the disappointment at not making the Final - Anita looks crushed - I don't think Gleb could have been any prouder. His 'you're my finalist, you're my finalist, you're my finalist, you did so good, so good, SO good' gave me a lump in my throat. He posted a photo of them both captioned 'my champ' later on.”

Welcome .... this is exactly what my wife has been saying. She saw them on Sunday evening and missing them dancing together already . My wife is interested in dance but very occupied with 3 kids under 6 and these two caught her imagination. She was upset when they were voted off and asked me to download their dances and other footage so she could watch whenever she has time. In the process I saw interaction between these two, which does not equate to neutral to me.My wife feels like she watched a romantic film for months and has never felt like this about any dancer, actor or celeb before. Its all harmless fun .

"A" puts up a good front but you can tell she was anguished.Crushed as you put it and its not about the voting off.Its more about not "seeing you on Monday" Reason why we feel nothing untoward happened despite everything is that -things were left undone but didn't want them left unsaid .Its a big thing for a career woman or any woman to say these things. She was totally different with him to what you see otherwise. His person comes across rather decent as well which I was not expecting.

Thanks Josh. I noticed you didn't respond.

Nice to have a male POV too and I like you describing Gleb as decent because I think so too. Yes he's made mistakes, haven't we all but he put things right.

Very pleased to read about Gleb's gig as a judge for the Essex Air Ambulance show. That's a really good sign that they approached him and that he agreed to appear. Shows he's keen to work in the UK as well as us being keen to have him. I wonder if they will fly him into the venue?

I know what you mean. At first (before I knew he was married & had a daughter) I was unsure if he was going to be a bit of a lothario type that the papers love to trash but as time went on we really got to see his true, fun personality. Yes he does play on his looks at times but it's all done in good humour at himself & I don't think he takes any of the fawning seriously- he just seems to laugh along with it. He certainly doesn't come across as vain to me- he just knows how to work a camera and an audience to give them what they want.

Yes definitely! It isn't too far from me so I was tempted to look into tickets but it is all sold out. Would love to see him do more stuff here- maybe in the vein of Vincent & Flavia or Brendan's tours or something! I'd love to just watch a whole evening of him dancing! It'd be great if he made a name for himself in the UK outside of Strictly.

Meant to add it is great to see this thread becoming more active lately! Discovering Gleb has been a real treat for me this last few months so it's really nice to be able to discuss it with other Gleb fans!

I love the Unchained Melody AS. I don't think Gleb ever looked as handsome as did then, clean shaven and almost utherworldly looking. I was really taken a back. Not that he doesn't look handsome all of the time obviously, but that night he really did look beautiful.

I agree! My favourite dance is probably their paso but I did love the AS. I loved all of them really- I also really liked their salsa even though it got slated for "not being a salsa". I just thought Gleb's choreography in that dance was amazing and it really did make me wish we'd seen their showdance because I think it would have been spectacular.

As for looks I don't really have a favourite- he looked stunning every week to me haha!

My first favourite look was the long-haired Gothic king from the tango. My second favourite look was as the hot jailer with a large baton.

I'll be in Germany at that time, but it would probably be online too.

Re favorite Gleb looks, I agree with you ... I don't normally like long hair on men, but he looked fine with the guyliner and the crown (I assume you mean the waltz where he had extensions ... but the gothic-ish tango was also nice). And that sexy jailer ...

I actually didn't like his look for the AS. I realized later he must have been clean-shaven, powdered, and fluffy-haired to channel Patrick Swayze as a ghost, but for me it was too Ken-doll.

BIB: Yes, my mistake. It was the Maleficent waltz. I don't like him too clean looking either as it makes him too good looking. A bit unreal, like a doll.

This event is a good cause and it seems he and his wife are keen to work in the UK/ US with the US being the long term aim from all reports. He and Anita did very well on SCD/scd tour considering he was not known here before and she has never danced before so.He was lucky to be paired with someone who was a help. Can't be his looks alone because supposedly Giovanni is goodlooking and Georgia seems to have a million followers but it didn't translate into anything positive.I think Anita and Gleb came across as articulate people, head down just getting on with it.And the same can be said for him and his wife.No stumbling out of clubs/pubs.

So just random thoughts:I think Lana was saying this couple have business advisors in Russia. Being in the same field I would say they have the potential to be the next Posh and Becks. The wife is better looking and smiley.Apart from all their dance commitments they should do something like Posh and Becks did....allow TV crews to follow them for one or two progs. Not as much as Peter Andre...a series is too much. The dance and Russian elements would be interesting viewing .Reach a wider audience. All his training/off dance/ dance footage with Anita in a documentory type format would be in demand. And things like Gleb Special cologne and Gleb Sweat deordorant....stuff like that would go well as his profile is on a high right now.Not sure of his present UK advisors/pr people.

I hope they have Anita and Mel for SCD ....they would be better than Tess and Claudia.
Anita and Mel knew each other prior to this tour by the way.

I think they are working to be a branded couple and seem to have business sense so it doesn't surprise me that they work with business advisors. I hope they do not do any reality TV where the focus is other than dance.

As to products, I think we ladies might like a Gleb sweat perfume that contains some of his pheromones please.

Hmmm yes!!! I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching that one- especially when Anita rips the top of his shirt open at the start... it does funny things to me!

I agree! I really don't like the thought of them just selling themselves out like that and trading off the inevitable magazine deals! I haven't seen much of Elena but Gleb certainly seems far too talented to reduce himself to that level. He knows his looks can sell- hence the calendars etc but there is clearly far more to him than that and it'd be nice for that to be recognised.

I know what you mean ....Peter Andre series and worse would be CBB .They need to do something similar to what Posh and Becks did when they moved to Madrid .It wasn't much from my POV .Posh is such a bland, bossy woman but that gave them higher exposure .These are both talented and better looking than Posh and Becks .....so just a one off prog charting them round the world of dance which is an unusual angle.

I am very surprised his PR people here have not done anything yet about pefumes/colognes/deordorants and those names.Think the people (Bold ) concerned are not well connected and this couple wouldn't know that. Believe they have the likes of Megan McKenna on their books and that tells you all you need to know.

And the women are saying barely coherent words in sultry voices as he drags his baton across the bars before having his shirt ripped open ... It was very clever choreography when one starts to analyse it. I confess to being ignorant, but did it borrow much from Chicago routines?

It's very much a Chicago-inspired number. The nice thing is that it's turned around so that Gleb is the one being sexed up--in the show and the movie version I don't think there are any jailers dancing with them and the women are very sexy. Anita looked good too, but Gleb is providing the Fosse sizzle.

Here's the scene from the movie, and I think stage productions are similar:

Thanks for posting that. Great routine. Given Denise van Outen played Roxie, she was honest and really did just sit on a chair ...

Yeah, it's true that Bold have a lot of people from TOWIE, Geordie Shore etc on their books. Though there are far worse agencies you can be signed with if im honest, (CAN being the absolute worst), I did raise my eyebrows a little when I read that Gleb was signed with them. As long as he doesn't go down the route that the Jordan's have.

No, I just said that Elena is signed with PR agency in Russia and promotes herself very actively now, unlike Gleb by the way. When he was featured on the cover a few times she was always there with him. She understands that she is not as talented as he is and decided to earn money there with her own project, more as a choreographer. imo

Maybe it's my mentality, but I think his calendar and underwear line are enough.
As for looks, my absolute favourite one is from tango to Sweet Disposition.

That's interesting! It certainly seems they are keen to become known internationally rather than put down roots in anyone area although it appears Hong Kong is their main base if their daughter attends school there (what a cutie she is by the way- she looks such a Daddy's girl from the pictures I have seen of them & it's clear from interviews Gleb is besotted with her- aaaaw!).

What do people think about the rumours of Elena joining Strictly next year? I don't know enough about her or her dancing ability to comment but I don't know whether it'd open Gleb up for more bashing given the vitriol directed at some of the real life pro-couples in the past.

Yeah, he adores his little daughter and even once said its the best thing that happened to him. She's definitely a daddy's girl.

BIB1 Articles with rumors about her involvement were only in the British press, it is little known here.
BIB2 With a more talented partner Gleb would have been far more successful on a professional level. imo
BIB3 This is the reason I don't want her to be on the show. I hope the producers are smart people and will make the right decision.

BIB I'm not sure what I think about Elena joining Strictly. There's slim pickings of her on youtube and what I have seen of her dancing, looks a bit old fashioned somehow. I don't think Gleb and her are a great couple together. I would much prefer Gleb dancing with Joanne Clifton actually, they looked as they were having a whale of a time, not to mention Gleb picking up some ballroom tips (just to stop the moaners, of course.

Joy, thank you so much for your tour report. I loved the part where Gleb was the last to leave and spending a lot of time with the fans. I agree, there is more to him than meets the eye. Also, I really got the impression that he was really quite charmed by his Strictly experience.
