BT Youview Box - but Talktalk broadband
I hope someone can help me. After much discussion on here I plumped for a BT Youview box over Christmas and so far so good. When I press the youview button a BT option came up which I know I couldn't use being a TalkTalk broadband subscriber.
However im guessing since an auto update this has switched to TalkTalk I don't have any TV package with them as the reason I bought a box was because I didn't want to be tied to a contract so im only on Broadband Is this TalkTalk option on my screen any use or is it only if I subscribe to a TV contract that it becomes useful Any explanation much appreciated |

You have got it sussed. Acts as a PVR with free catch-up services and that's it.

I think the TalkTalk option that you mentioned is the TalkTalk Player. This is an on-demand service from TalkTalk, consisting of movies, box sets, gigs, stage plays and so forth. Access to it comes as part of a TalkTalk subscription, but the content is pay per view. I am guessing here, but as you do not have the TV package, I doubt you will be able to access it. I could be wrong, though. You get to it either by selecting TalkTalk in the Players menu, or directly via the BT Player button on the remote (either will do). I suspect that what will happen if you try is that a banner will appear asking you if you want to add the service to your package.

Thanks. I thought it might be along those lines. I'll click on it and see what happens later
