I'd love to see this! A social experiment taken to the extreme.

Given that a number of the current crop admit to having had psychiatric treatment it is looking a little like an aftercare centre as it is.

As Channel 5 started showing American Horror Story last summer they could copy all the themes to coincide with whichever series they are on - Murder House, Asylum, Coven,Freak Show, Hotel

That make me remember the "If you snooze you lose task"
* there will be no alarms to wake housemates - it will be entirely the housemates' own responsibility to stay awake.
* Big Brother will offer housemates opportunities to earn more sleeping hours to add to their Sleep Clock.
* for the duration of the task, housemates must wear the white pyjamas provided. They will also be given white dressing gowns, slippers and teddy bears.
* Big Brother will offer housemates a chance to add an extra hour on to their Sleep Clock by "counting sheep" where they must become sheep and jump over fences in the garden.

No because firstly there are no Asylum's in this country anymore and secondly people who go into psychiatric hospitals go in them because there are seriously ill it is not to be made entertainment out of.

No I wouldn't. But they can still have a Mental Asylum theme without ****ing with the housemates' minds. What you're suggesting I meant would be messed up.

I know exactly- aren't people despicable sometimes

Hey I've got a great idea!!! Let's inject people with hiv and cancer, smack them about a bit and break a few limbs, see how they cope. It would make great tv .

Started off as a social experiment.

It's now a circus.

If they did an Auschwitz theme would that be OK? Secret room could be an attic, they would have to be super quiet.

I thought that had been the theme for a good few years

The BBC did A version of that experiment which was more reality tv than science. It came out really quickly after the first couple of bb's as I recall.

There was a film out last year called the "Experimenter" about the Milgram experiment on obedience to authority figures - people giving electric shocks to strangers:

Sound familiar?

One of evil BB's themes back in bb5 was to drive the HMs insane. There was a documentary that aired on channel 4 called "Big Brother, the Inside Story" where the executive producer of bb5 talks about wanting to push housemates the housemates to their breaking point. It's nothing new.
