Do you purely measure success, achievement and fulfilment in monetary terms?

Let me get this right, Jonathan described Angie of having a Scary Witch Face?
Look in the mirror Jonathan and think very carefully about how you just described somebody else's physical looks.

If Jonathan had green face paint on he'd look exactly like the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz.

I'm English as much as the next man, but..

If I was in the house an he asked me what does she do?

I'd say..

I know that she is famous for being the England manager's girlfriend, then he cheated on her with a pretty weather girl, who has also done CBB. This was like 15 years ago..

But what does she do?
what does she do??

That makes him more important than an international football manager in the context of celebrity?

It wasn't even as if he was just sneering at how a football manager could be seen as successful, he also said "Not even a footballer" as though that's not much better.

Thank you, now I know

What didn't someone just tell him that's the sort of stuff she does?

LMAO Its a cracker isn't it. There is a brilliant one with Jeremy Paxman too.

Don't stop posting the link. It is a clip that, I assume, like a fine wine needs time to develop and be fully appreciated. And maybe when it has aged a bit we might eventually fathom WTF she is on about.

But would you ask it if you yourself were thrown into the mix in this year's Celebrity Brother, and on entering the house you were described with the caption 'Digital Spy Legend'?

I think if you're honest, like most of us here you'd be very embarrassed indeed to question the nature of the celebrity of anyone else in the BB house. If it was asked In the sneery condescending manner which appeared to be his intent anyway.
This wasn't a question born out of curiosity, it was a rhetorical question which was another way of saying that she is nothing and that she is beneath him.

Oh don't get me wrong I am not defending Whats his name. Only being reminded that I have often wondered what it is Nancy does and the time I wonder most is when she is in the middle of expalining it.

I understand. I have to keep trying to remember what it is that half of the people in this year's CBB house actually do.

Well you are way ahead of me there.

I haven't got a clue who most of them are let alone knowing what they do. I recognised precisely 4 of them and only Kristina ticked both the who and what box. Nancy I recognised and don't quite know what she did before reality TV came knocking. Daniella was in Eastenders and David Guest was married to Liza Minelli. Thats it.

But for me recognisiton of 4 of them is about average.

Well in that case I'm not that far ahead of you because I only see a handful of people I know. I don't even know their names let alone what they do. It was only tonight I learned the names Jonathan and Scotty T.

For people who I would accept as being celebrities in respect to how we have come to understand the meaning of the term......
The two Eastenders actors, and Darren Day.

Names I know of but wouldn't be able to put a picture against the face...
Angie Bowie
Nancy Dell'Olio
Kristina Rihanoff, Strictly dancer, I think I've seen her before, I've probably heard the name before although I'm not familiar with it. But I understand she's on Strictly so aren't going to complain that she's not well known enough. Presumably she is.
I accept this group of three as being celebrities which I aren't that familiar with but who possibly are with many others watching.

Others who I am aware of from other reality TV shows...
David Gest, who I only became aware of because of IAC several years ago. I've put him into this group but think he's enough of a celebrity and therefore a valid signing.
Gemma Collins who I knew was on TOWIE, and who I only saw for the first time on last year's IAC.
Christopher Maloney, who was a contestant on The X Factor who I've seen a couple of photographs of. Now I can see him moving around and talking like he's a real person.

The remaining seven.....
I haven't got a bloody clue. I really haven't.
That's 9 people who for all I know may as well work at my local branch of Sainsbury's.

So for me this series there are 3 or 4 bona fide celebrities, and maybe 4 or 5 which are borderline and who ten years ago we might be questioning if they were well known enough to appear.
Which means that there is almost half of the entire house of 16 who I've never heard of, seen their face, and I have no clue about whatsoever.

I think if we're talking about a celebrity hit rate for any series of any reality TV show which is supposed to feature celebrities then this is definitely the worst lineup in that respect by far.

I am impressed. You are very well informed. Compared to me, specialist subject calibre!

I thought I knew who Darren Day was too - until he appeared and wasn't who I was expecting. I thought he was half of a 1980s pop duo but clearly he is far to young to be who I thought he was.

I don't think I'm well informed at all. If I am then it must be even worse than I thought if I don't know who many of them are.

I think you might have been thinking of the guy from pop duo 'Dollar' who was on IAC several years ago. I think his name is David Van Day.

That the one. I saw him on something or another ( won't have been the jungle because I have never watched it). He was an self important, diva without the minerals (as Dexter would have said) so naturally I assumed he would be in CBB sooner or later.

I don't know where I have seen him to be honest. I don't do much reality TV. Obviously I watch SCD if that counts. I do occassionally watch Come Dine with me if I am really struggling for something to watch, but thats about it. I ony started watching BB because I thought it was about psychology!

I wonder if I have seen him on one of these shows where the try to revive old bands?

Could be that. I vaguely remember him getting some sort of makeover, losing some weight, new clothes maybe . Its avery vague recollection though.

Anyway it doesn't matter. Judging by the coments the BBBOTS audience and panel have just been making; "Nobody really knows much about Kristina" I am clearly out of step wite the viewing habits of the majority. I know more about her than all the others put together and I would have also said she was the best known in UK TV terms. Clearly not.
