Why on earth should someone who shows love and affection for their beloved pet needs psychiatric help because it's not hygienic? Babies and little kids that crawl all over the floor with their sticky hands, snotty noses, and bits of food splattered all over them are quite possibly the most unhygienic, germ filled thing you can find, yet people still kiss them and no one says anything.”

Thank you. You've confirmed my points about people very nicely.

I think letting my dog lick me has contributed to me not getting too many colds/bugs and not being allergic to anything.

It's always kids from the 'clean' homes that appear to be allergic. Have never built up an immune system to anything.

No I don't let dogs lick my face and shudder when I see them lick the lips of their owners who seem to love it. Euugh...

Oh I feel sick. Letting your dog lick your face. Heave...

I always wash my hands after touching a dog never mind exchanging bodily fluids.

its the videos on You tube really shock me.
almost new born babies and the dogs are all over them. The owners are finding it hilarious but there is no way that can be good for the baby surely

Mine get the odd smooch, but they're filthy little buggers. Even my two, that don't eat stuff off the street (normally) have gobs filled with bacteria!

I'm still alive, so no harm done yet, but it's nice to give them snuggles

Yes, people get too hung up on stuff. My dogs respond to 'kisses' They're better than people. If you don't want dogs to kiss you fair enough, no one will force you to but don't stress because some of us are ok with it!

Mine don't eat poo thankfully and they have their teeth brushed every day and if they need a dental they have a dental.

Hell, I wouldn't even let myself do that.”

How many people do you personally know that have been harmed by having their face licked by a dog?

And I agree: you're far more likely to catch something nasty off a child.

Do you think it's safe to let the dog do this?”

I don't have a dog, but if I did, I wouldn't allow him/her to lick my face.

My dog licks all sorts of disgusting things. If my cat pisses in the garden he goes over and licks it.

No. I never let my dog anywhere near my face.

My husband does! I break the end off and put ice cream on that to give them some then they get the other end when I've had enough - that's if they don't get their own

I won't do that, but I do swipe a bit of the ice cream off on my finger tip which she'll lick off, then I do it again, which I suppose is just as bad. Though if I buy an ice cream she normally gets her own, usally a plain mini milk.

Exactly Rosie doesn't go near dog poo and she doesn't lick my face either but she does a great hand and arm licking along with the occasional manicure which is amazing ........
