They've hastily amended the voting terms to suit their con.

Unless otherwise directed, you will be voting to SAVE one Housemate. In the final, you will be voting for the Housemate you want to WIN.”

I want to know when "one" was added, as I checked on Day 2 to see if it was vote to save or evict and it definitely did not say "one".

They should have made it clear on the show, then.

The OP is right I just looked at the Google cache of that page from 6 January and it doesn't say one.

It says: Unless otherwise directed, you will be voting to SAVE a Housemate. In the final, you will be voting for the Housemate you want to WIN.

Haha that should cover them then.

I remember channel 4 only got into trouble for sending Nikki back in because they didn't update their website online. I think that was literally the only reason.

Oh yes, I never vote now, I learnt the hard way but I got there eventually.

It is still a disgusting con though.

How can they get away with this ? i really hope fans take notice of this and make complaints. For once i will say the fans have a REAL reason to be putting in complaints about the show

I'm certain this isn't the first time; just the most flagrant. Blatant cash grab, that.

That is stupid logic. People don't deserved to be conned just because they have fallen for a fix.

"a housemate" or "one housemate", it is pretty much the same thing.. It is still not fair on the voters though, who might reasonably have assumed that things would be conducted as usual.

Google the url http://bigbrother.channel5.com/faqs and then click the little downward arrow next to the url under the website title in the results. It should give you the options 'cached' and 'similar' click cached.

Doesn't 'a' mean the same as 'one'? I don't really get the distinction...

I think having it as 'one' is their way of saying they can do what they want with the others in a vote to save. 'A' could just mean that you're voting to save 'a housemate' from any of those that are up for the vote.

I can see your point, though, but they changed it for a reason, probably to make things watertight before trolling the viewer. I know they did this in BB6 but they at least told viewers beforehand.

I don't know why they even bothering with 'FAQs'/T&Cs now when they bend them at will. You don't even have to have been nominated to be up these days.

Isn't this a genuine reason to be complaining to Ofcom for once ?

The 'one' being referred to is the housemate who gets the most votes. They will be saved fairly via the public vote while BB can do what it likes to suit its own agenda with those who received fewer votes.

The previous terminology was simply that you could vote to save 'a housemate' from any that were up. After all you can vote for more than one housemate if you wish. Even though it sounds the same, this is arse-covering - they haven't changed it to mean the same thing otherwise why change it at all?
