I'm finding the young house mates so boring this year and they have been getting boring for a number of years now. They are so same old in that they don't know nothing about anything much except for who they fancy and who their mates are.

Who else agrees?

I do. They just have nothing to offer.

I do. Their conversational skills are non existent.

I think they should cut down on the young ones and make an effort to find some are quite clued up. Those that don't know nothing about anything much is so tedious to watch.

Anyone else agree? Apart from finding the young ones boring, I haven't seen most of them before or watched them in whatever their claim to "fame" is. Gemma, I had only seen because of her brief stint in I'm a Celebrity before she walked out early.

They are dire.

They all blend into one for me. I still have not memorised their names.

I hope they don't keep going with the very young ones. This year they've got a housemate that hasn't even been born yet.

I'm 23 and avoid these type of people in real life as they are all boring and have no opinion on anything.

Agreed there are only 4 young ones yet there are 11 older ones so by definition they should be more noticable if these 4 are boring

I find them the worst possible examples of zelebdom.

They know nothing and are seemingly proud of it.

Even Gemma is an improvement and I can't stand her.

Blimey, I thought she was younger. I remember one of the guys saying he was 27 but imo they have the mental age of people half their age and if they don't improve their knowledge of life in general by their late 20's and well into their 30's then when will they learn?

It annoyed me that she didn't know who Bette Davis was but that's because I'm fond of Bette. Very few young ones are going to know who she is so it was silly of me really. I just hate to think she'll be forgotten. I like the old stars and I dare say a lot of people of my own generation don't know half the people I enjoy reading about and watching in old movies - most of them would be from my own parents' and grandparents' eras so unless people are studying film or something they are not going to know them.

I do think now younger people are younger for a lot longer nowadays

Leaving home at 18 married at 21 and all that isn't that common now.

Living at home till 25 and above is more common again which allows people to think much younger

How old is Megan though? If she is in her late teens to early 20's then I'm not so surpised about her not knowing who Bette Davis was as bette davis passed away in the late 1980's I think and I can't recall seeing any of her films being shown for ages on TV and or talked about in general before this.

I was born in the 70's and grew up in the 80's and 90's and back then Bette Davis was still talked about a fair bit.

Most intelligent and talented young people with a career ahead of them arn't likely to do Big Brother. It's easier for older housmates because they more likely not having to think about how they may judged in future careers or even worry about taking time off of work.

She seems to live in her own little bubble.

Age is no excuse anyway. Many people younger than her have heard of Bette Davis. One of the most famous actresses in the history of motion pictures.

So Megan was born about 4 years after Bette Davis died and by the time Bette davis died her films were pretty old.

As a kid in the 1980's/early 90's, I watched a lot of the Laurel and Hardy films and they carried on showing older films well into and maybe throughout the 1990's on most weekday mornings and afternoons but nowadays its quite rare and only seem to show them on BBC 2 on saturday afternoons espeically.

For reality housemates it's a step up if they do well.

Megan is my preferred one out the four, actually scotty the least but he will still win unfortunately
