Don't be all high and mighty, you just agreed with a forum member calling another forum member a homophobe just because they agreed with Jeremy. That is the most ridiculous post i have read on here all day.

So what? Everybody else was singing from the same hymn sheet because they all agreed with each other. How does that make Jeremy respectable? Because he had a dissenting opinion?

I respected him for that. They shouldn't have to justify their nominations.

Why would the member in question agree with Jeremy defending a homophobe unless they themselves are a homophobe?

I daresay you have proven my point about posters in the BB section of this forum with your reply.

Of course he did!
He doesn't like Nancy, so wanted her out.
He got on fine with Winston and didn't let a comment (Winston made outside of the house) sway him.
The others just wanted to look good, because they heard the crowd booing Winston.
A few of them i believe were genuinely upset about the comment - but some i believe, were faking their outrage and just went along with it.
The previous day, Angie almost wanted to string Winston up - yet when she made her nomination - she said something idiotic like "i'd rather a woman stay".
WTF???!!

The member in question is me and i'll say it again...i'm not a homophobe.
I respect Jeremy because he has his own mind and didn't just blindly follow the others.

So what???? Are we in the school playground now?

Yes, I respect him because he had a dissenting opinion which differed from everybody else's.
You may not value that, but I happen to do so.

From other threads it appears that he's backtracking under pressure now though, so I may well retract that opinion.

Not but judging by this response, we might as well be.

I said "so what?" because I saw nothing respectable about Jeremy's nomination based on your post. That's why I said, "so what?" As in, so what is so respectable?

Fair enough. I don't value that indeed.

Sorry but why are the housemates being called blindly following the others for. Maybe 99% of the house agreed with each other. There's absolutely no point in not following the general consensus if you agree with it.

So why not respect the others then? Did they not vote the way they wanted to?

Have you thought that perhaps everyone else singing from the same hymn sheet is because they are all a pack, a herd, sheep?

Stephanie and co were all over Winston and absolving him from everything......and then next thing he's condemned!

I didn't say I didn't respect the others, but im not the one on here suggesting that Jeremy wanted to save the "homophobe" thats not respecting his decision, thats saying he should vote the way the others did or he's in the wrong.

So they changed their opinion? They picked who they were going to nominate before they saw who nominated who.

That's one of my points,......no i don't think they did!
Quite a few of them got on with Winston, and the younger girl's don't even like Nancy! It was just an easy way out.
They used "the comment" as an excuse.....but i don't think half of them were that bothered by it to be totally honest.

I find it disturbing how people are so quick to throw mud at others without understanding what they're actually saying. There is no denying that Winston was homophobic. But Jeremy choosing to vote out Nancy does not make him homophobic, and the OP saying they respect Jeremy for not being a sheep is certainly not homophobic. People should not use these phrases to describe others when there is no evidence to support it, as being falsely accused of being bigoted in any way is highly offensive and disrespectful.

If anything Jeremy just proved exactly Nancy's theory about him, that he has a problem with strong women. He took a dislike to her instantly because she was assertive and didn't entertain his generic River Island bought lads personality. He's a little rat, hopefully he'll be next out. Remember that the others didn't all vote in unison because they were influenced by each other. They had to have their votes picked ahead of time secretly since it was done by photos. Each of the thirteen came to the conclusion by themselves that they wanted Winston the sexist homophobe out.

Yet he seems to get on well with all the other women in the house. Or are you saying that Nancy is the only strong woman in the house?

He shouldn't but he also should have been more consistent in his views. I admired John's statement when he said he wanted Winston to have his suitcase back; I understood that while he didn't agree with and was probably upset by Winston's views he was showing that he knew that Winston was not wholly homophobic and wanted that to be seen. But when he voted for Winston his words were extreme and there was no need for that.

I despise the words that Winston used but still preferred him over Nancy, she is far from a strong woman. We have seen time and again in BB and in particular CBB because the contestants are more media savvy, women playing on their supposed vulnerability and it makes me ashamed of my gender. Well done Jeremy.
