Well, depends on the genetics. There's many Aboriginal people in Australia with blue eyes, blonde hair and pale skin, believe it or not...

He was pre-empting the general atmosphere in trying to get across the point that while he may have his views, he doesn't have a problem with gay people themselves that many people are in such a hurry to paint him as homophobic. Even Rylan didn't seem to have a problem with him saying this, even if he was overall pissed off with him.

Between who? I don't see anyone complaining about being offended, just people expressing relief that this homophobic loser was thrown out on his arse. The only ones kicking up a fuss are those who bizarrely think equating gay parents adopting to child abuse is a defensible point of view.

No, because a gay guy walking down the street holding hands with his male partner obviously would be revealing his sexuality.
