I really felt for Winston then.

Even as a gay man, that just felt like a witch hunt.

Winston is absolutely entitled to his opinions. He's of a different generation, of a different up bringing and thats just the way he was raised.

I find his comments offensive but i also appreciate that we live in a large world with a large spectrum of people who have a large spectrum of opinions.

I don't feel the need to bully someone into thinking the way i do.

He doesn't seem aggressively anti gay, his views just seem out dated and prejudice.

What a set up, they knew what they were doing with that quiz.

Totally agree OP.
It's obvious the man isn't a monster!
His views are just outdated.
A shame BB had to turn it into a witch hunt.
Other HM's have said worse things (actually inside the house) and have stayed til the end! (Katie horse-face Hopkins springs to mind.

The people who aren't gay seem to be more offended than actual gay people.

I think we're seeing clearly that these PC bandwagon types are becoming the bully that they say they despise.

A cause shouldnt be built on hatred for another view or people. If it is then its built on sand. An idea should stand on its own merits to promote whatever its objectivies are.

Tonight we saw Big Brother purposely setup Winston.

There are still a sizable amount of people who disagree a lot on the gay issues. It's not fair to stereotype people on either side.

I think they picked on Winston as he was an easy target. He didn't express himself well to defend himself, and obviously the words he had used previously weren't the best words to use in any context.

Big Brother doesn't tolerate Winston but lets big mouth helen threaten and libel other housemates with no action.

The show is being ruined by mindless zombies.

having an issue with a man likening gay parenting to child abuse is not political correctness

Ok I find the man a bit creepy and his personality is unattractive HOWEVER

He has stated that gay people can live their lives however they choose, no problem, but he doesn't have to agree with it, it's not compulsory. We live in a democracy which means he is allowed an opinion. Whether we agree or not is fine. That's one of the joys of having freedom of expression.
Let's face it as a black man he must've faced his fair share of discrimination over the years I'm guessing.
I have to say also that my 53 year old OH would also feel deeply uncomfortable sharing a bed with a bloke, not because he's homophobic but because it would just make him feel awkward. However if he had to share a sleeping bag with his mate in the Arctic to survive no problem, but given the option it's a no.
My 21 year straight son however would probably have no issue sharing with one of his mates, so it's a bit of a generational thing too.

Spot on, OP.

Winston is vile...but Endemol were really childish with their faux outrage and witch-hunt.

As much as I am against his views (I doubt the other housemate are all pc and liberal just not caught out yet) I felt like I was watching a wildlife documentary and a pack of wild dogs were feasting on prey.

The man's a buffoon with outdated ignorant views but it was clear others were using it to suit their own agenda.

I felt sorry for him too, and it is interesting that you feel the same way too, OP.
He was hounded out and it was not pleasant to watch.

It doesnt seem to me that he means 'child abuse' literary.Different generations describe child abuse differently.

Emma made him a victim. She just attacked him for a comment not made on the show.BB sets those tasks all the time. There was no need for Emma to dwell on it.

I think it would have been interesting to see how they would have voted had big brother not forced his homophobic comments on them all in a task. I'm sure his views would have came out - some of them already were in last nights show but I'm sure there were plenty other things big brother could have used for that task. I think he would probably still have left tonight but it wouldn't have been such an attack on him. I do completely disagree with his views and wanted him to leave and if I'd have been in the housemates situation I'm sure I would have voted him out having heard his views and the way he reacted to the task. I can also see why emma interviewed him in the way she did although the interview should have changed course part of the way through and maybe discussed his housemates or something because they were going round in circles.
I think the task is where BB went wrong, they knew how offensive his comments were to others and they added that fuel.

I agree OP.

Winston was an invited guest on this show and the behaviour of people towards him tonight has been shocking. Let's not forget that whatever views he holds he has always come across as friendly and speaking civilly to others. Even if he holds outdated and unpopular opinions.

Rylan was, I thought, fair. He told him he disagreed with his comments but still remember!need to treat him like a guest. Unlike the so called panel on his show who were rude just for rudeness sake. And the audience cackling every time Winston tried to answer a question were just vile.

I just don't enjoy watching one person being treated like that by a baying mob.

The guy got attacked tonight and no fair minded person would argue with that.

His treatment tonight was almost as disgusting as his views on gay adoption. I also felt sorry for him, which is strange given the circumstances. He was well and truly set up. yes he holds outdated and vile views, but they did this to him on purpose. And it wasn't pretty to watch Emma scolding him like a child either.
