She barely let him get a word in at the beginning. Thats not good interviewing, interrupting someone when they are not even half way through answering your question.

He kept comparing BB to boxing and whenever she asked a question he said, "I'm a Christian! I'm a Christian!" instead of actually answering her question. He was completely unable to articulate why he felt the way he did.

He even asked her if she'd prefer him to lie. I don't blame Emma for having an attitude, he gave her nothing.

She even said on BOTS about that it was about her beliefs.. but Winston isn't allowed his.. Which I don't agree with Winston's beliefs but he is entitled to them.

If you and Emma had listened properly you'd know that he was responding to the question 'What do you think of the crowd reaction' he simply said he was used to rough crowds having been a boxer. It was probably one of the most sensible answers of the night but Emma was hell bent on ridicule and humiliation.

I was listening properly. If you listened properly, you'd know he used the boxing excuse before that too. He was just going to spend the rest of the interview comparing BB to boxing if Emma did not intervene and let him know this is a TV show.

Totally agree with this. A clear head is needed by a presenter. Paxton can be a tough interviewer at times but he keeps it professional and he chats away impartially afterwards to his subject. We all have our own agenda's thoughts and feelings especially in relation to issues like this but a skilled interviewer knows how to circumnavigate their own surely?

As was the BOTS panelists.

The witch hunt for Jeremy simply because he was the only one to want to vote Nancy off was pathetic.

I don't agree, Winston was out of order with his comments and people were disgusted so Emma had to address his bad behaviour and she continued with her questioning because he avoided answering most of them. Emma cannot win with some people, if she's too soft she's slaughtered but then when she takes a harder stance she is still slaughtered. I thought she done a good job under the circumstances tonight. People need to give Emma some slack!!!!

I find Winstons views' absolutely vile.

However they are his views. To speak about how it upset other house-mates was fair game as that is what BB is all about. What happened and so a valid question for the interviews.

However it went far too far. It became all about Emma and Rylan and what their views are. If they are entitled to put across fully, without interruption, what their views are then surely the house mate has the right to theirs. Even if most people find his views to be vile.

I find him repulsive but the whole episode turned into 'witch hunt'. So unprofessional.

We can all let him know our feelings by never voting for him.

That was the first question she asked, and he was barely able to finish his answer before she felt the need to interrupt. I don't understand why though, he was answering that particular question directly. She was wasting time splitting hairs with him over boxing analogies, especially when she obviously had much bigger things to talk about. I just don't think she's a very skilled interviewer. Her shortcomings were swept under the carpet tonight however because Winston was such a huge villan she didn't have to do much to earn lots of praise.

Exactly this, he was avoiding her questions of his homophobic views. She was basically pointing out people's feelings and disgust of his gay comments and he tried the best he could to avoid the question! He was deflecting her questions completely.

No the first question she asked was how he felt about being first out after three days. He then went on and on about boxing before Emma asked how he felt about the crowd's reaction. He talked about boxing again which is when Emma interrupted him. Two questions in a row, he was giving a convoluted and useless answer that said nothing.

The comment was made before he entered the house. Why did Emma not confront Winston on his entrance? Why was he allowed in the house?

Would it be right to challenge him on the way in?

You have a certain time slot for the show, a certain number of housemates to get through (16 in the case of this year) some say something controversial in their VT while others don't so do you give more time to those controversial comments and give the next person a rushed entry in order to fit everyone in within the allowed time?

How do you vet that? Who gets more time than others? And who's time is cut short as a sacrifice? Which comments should be challenged on the way in over ones that shouldn't?

Surely the one on one with Emma where she hasn't got 15 others to get through in a certain amount of time is the correct time and place to address those?

Besides had she pulled him up over them on the way in how much more could she have asked him on eviction night after just 3 days in the house?

He doesn't even need to 'get over it'. He'll be making bucks off the back of it.

What annoys me and probably others is the total hypocrisy of CBB paying a fella £60,000 to enter the house, knowing full well the statements he had made and then turning around and having a massive go at him. You cant reward someone with £60,000 knowing what you know about him and then turn around and pretend to punish him. If you didn't like his position on gays, why pay him to go in?

I absolutely agree that Winston's comments are disgusting, archaic and (in my opinion) downright nasty.

What does makes me laugh though, in some ways, is that BB invite him onto the show having meticulously planned it all, their researchers did their job and found this comment for use in this task.

They have this little scenario all set up, where they are going to do this little trial and hold people to account for things that they have said and done in the past. Common practice in BB, often entertaining, always dramatic. They knew that this kind of revelation is likely to lead to an eviction, then pretty much ensured it with the housemate vote tonight - leading nicely into a little interview where Emma and Rylan can 'shine' and show the right amount of outrage on our behalf. We can all feel satisfied that this man has been rightfully told off by our hosts on our behalf.

All drama carefully orchestrated and executed by the producers for our 'entertainment'. They got what they wanted, a lot of people talking about the housemates, the press loving it, all in the first few days ... and all set up from the initial VT edited carefully to show his 'back to the wall' comment which set the tone for this drama.

Not an attempt to justify Winston at all, there is no justification for what he said, but it's all so very predictable from Big Brother.
