Why doesn't England have their own national anthem?

It's probabaly unwise to enquire too deeply into the lyrics of many national anthems. The Dutch national anthem pledges alligence to the King of Spain, or it might be the Spanish one pledges allegiance to the King of the Netherlands - can't remember which way around it is. And I beleive the Germans never use the first two verses of their national anthem - for obvious historical reasons.

England does have their own National anthem and it is the same as the British one. Just because the other members now have their own different anthems does not mean England should change that should be a matter for the people of England.
