That God should (and I paraphrase ) 'get with the times dude'

It's a fair point. Could God and religion evolve and move along with the times? How relevant is it? How can you understand some of the Bible when law has changed etc.

Darren is going to be the biggest people pleaser in there, even if that means telling God to move with the times lol.

Which god was he talking about though? Allah doesn't exactly seem like a hip, 21st century dude considering how backwards and barbaric Islam is

i find it funny when people like you only have a problem with islam. have you even read the bible or torah. all 3 books are extremely similar.

I find it funny when lefties always feel the need to leap to Islam's defence when anybody dares criticise it but then in the same breath tell everyone how out of date and ridiculous Christianity is, lefties have doublethink down to an art

You don't even know me or what I believe. All organised religions are ridiculous and out of date, but you don't see Jews and Christians beheading non-believers and throwing gays off buildings, Islam is clearly the worst of the lot

but your original point was about islam, not what some muslim countries do

buddhists are burning muslims alive in burmha
there are christians groups bombing abortion clinics
preists molesting kids
there are israeli jews shooting kids

you choose to ignore those things.

I always say, if you look outside and see not just people, but trees, mountains, nature, etc, the entire NATURAL world, then if there is a God; he created it. Bigots agree with that. Until I say, 'well, scientists have found that homosexuality has been found in over 1500 species and its still rising. If God created all that out there, he designed that also, surely?' It goes down like a cold cup of sick with some of 'em. I'm not religious, but I'm certainly not an atheist either. If I want to see if there is a God, I'll look to nature, not some book written by deeply, narrow-minded, intensely repressed misogynists, thanks very much.

Firstly, there clearly isn't a god as Gemma and Grotty T wouldn't exist if there were.

But if there was a god im sure he loves everyone equally, it's humans who claim to follow him here on earth that decide what he believes in and what he would want for humanity.. I bet if he came back he'd be kicking some religious butt down here and putting an end to all organised religions who do more hating than loving.

In the same way you choose to ignore the rampant barbarianism of muslims across the world? Kids just get randomly shot on the streets in Israel do they? That sounds like desperate conjecture to me

If you're trying to make all the other organised religions seem as bad as Islam, you've got a long way to go yet. Islam has 9/11, 7/7 London attacks, 2008 Mumbai attacks, ISIS, Al-Qa'ida, Taliban, Boko Haram, Lee Rigby, San Bernardo attacks, Paris attacks, numerous other attempts at bombings/shootings/beheadings and constant fear of terrorism in most countries across the world. How are the other religions going to top that?

yes for throwing stones. can the best army in the world not disarm a child? do they have to resort to murder?

well america is a christian country and has invaded many countries, many of their soldiers have tortured, raped, and killed innocent civillians. isis kills more muslims than it has done none muslims. they also torture people in guantanamo bay, people who have not been convicted of any crimes.

I'm sure he does. I'm certain he shakes his head quite a number of times, but loves us nonetheless.

I actually felt quite good about that comment. The only thing I would say otherwise is that if God does exist I'd assume he would be so much more forward thinking than the likes of Winston

Or maybe he's like a lot of people these days and doesn't believe in a "man in the sky"

God is a human construct and does move with the times (we don't stone people to death for working on a Sunday anymore) - sometimes not as quickly as we non-believers would wish.
